    Against who, the minister who advised against it? You might as well try to sue because you died and there was no heaven...

    Actually, I've been expecting to hear that someone is suing because they had a near-death experience and it didn't match the promises of the religion they now feel like they've wasted their life on.

    Obama doesn't want to go to war (it's expensive, financially and politically, Americans will die, and the U.S. will end up having to stick around for 20 years after the end of the war to prop up the country)

    OTOH, it may be in the national interest, because it would give the pundicks at FOX news something new to complain about. I'm tired of going into a place of business that has them on, and being treated to incessant Bengazi outrage and "Obamacare is making everyone's insurance rates go up".

    The Iraqi military was removed from Kuwait by military force because it had illegally occupied and annexed Kuwait, not because of rumors about incubators. It is a red herring.

    There's a difference between reasons, real reasons, and stories you spread around to get the population riled up to support your actions.

    Like the Kuwaiti lady that testified to the US Congress about the atrocities, and forgot to mention that she was a Kuwaiti Princess.

    I know you've been taught that 'jihadist' means 'anti-American terrorist,' but it's really not true. Give up the conditioning. A jihadist can be good, or bad, or even non-violent.

    I'm not saying we should invade Syria, just that a jihadist isn't what you think it is.

    I don't think any of the terrorist organizations are jihadist. They appear to be people who are outraged at some real or perceived wrong, and have convinced themselves that killing innocent people is proper redress.

    Just like Timothy McVeigh.

    AFAICT the only way Islam enters into Middle Eastern sourced terrorism is as part of the definition of "us" vs. "them".

    Other than that, I can't see any motivation to pick those two high-profile American targets.

    If it is in fact Syrians, I don't know what they expect to accomplish for their cause.

    I think many have this false belief due to (at least) one now widely discredited study published proposing this link - this/these ideas are still pushed by some people and celebrities, like Jenny McCarthy.

    Getting your medical advice from a Playboy Bunny isn't any smarter than getting it from your preacher.

    If a deliberately unvaccinated child dies as a result of his parent's "choice", when the advice came from the pulpit of the parent's church, should anyone be held responsible for manslaughter? Keep in mind these are the "it's a child, not a choice" people.

    As the saying goes, "Life is sacred from the moment of conception until the moment of birth. After that you're on your own."

    But I was wondering about liability too. If your child catches it but doesn't die, is this grounds for a lawsuit?

    Well the really obvious difference being that CP is straight up illegal and disgusting so sting operations by law enforcement seems reasonable while copyright infringement is a civil matter for most users.

    I just wonder what it does to the minds of the law enforcement officials who work in that area.

    The only thing that would make this any juicier now is if Prenda itself didn't have the rights to distribute that porn.

    Well, they forged copyright assignments with an "Alan Cooper" signature, they negotiated some licenses just for going after copyright violations but not distributing content, and they approached several copyright holders only after the violations started.

    So there's all the juice you want in there.

    Some people just aren't cut out to be supercrooks. Stick to shoplifting candy, Steele.

    It's all part of the movement towards State management of who lives and dies, based of course on political ideology and revenue.

    Such abuse is in fact possible, but right now it's your insurance company's actuary and your wallet that determine who lives and who dies.

    The various portions of the brain do not necessarily fall asleep at the same time. It leads to people doing complex things, like driving across town and killing someone, while "sleepwalking".
