    did you pay any attention?

    they are using a bsd-like license. it isn't working , because some companies only take and don't give.

    there is already a wine-like program which is populair in the corporate section. it is called windows.

    doesn't that include the agreement between AOL and mircosoft? the AOL-browser still uses Internet explorer.

    Of course, we reserve the right to define what are "good laws" and what are "bad laws", and in what cases a particular law that we consider "bad" is suddenly "good" or vice versa...

    yes, and we can change the bad laws when enough people agree with us. It is called democracy.

    no , I am just one of those mililion other people who sent e-mails with resumes. It actually works better than the old fasion snailmail.
    I have to admit that I actual send them to the hr department and not some random adress.

    resumes aren't spam!!
    threating a resume like spam is just really dumb.
    the way bernard reacted was even dumber. I doubt that a ISP would disconnect someone for sending a resume, but they do for sending flames.

    Most companies are happy with a resume even in the current market.

    companies want resumes. we want laws against spam. we don't get those laws when they include resumes.

    This sounds a lot like how vector graphics work. They don't transmit every pixel,but only send the coordinates and the instructions how to draw the image.

    Somehow they managed to do the same for applications. maybe they only send the sourcecode and compile the code on location

    It is about the links to the sites. If someone want to find the sites they can , but they just want to make it harder.

    What happened to choosing the best software that does the task that I require it to do? If the goal is for users to be 'free to share and change the software they use', then that should also include the freedom to mix and match software (be it proprietry or open source) to meet their requirements

    if it is proprietary you aren't free to share and change the software. It isn't that complex to understand.

    the tree menu is intressting, but will confuse a lot of people.

    Graphics are nice , but useabilty is more important in the long term.

    20000 dollar makes it worth a programmers time.
    that is the way this world works.

    A sucessful linmodem kernel module/anything will appear on the moment that some peoply really need it

    I guess that someone really needs or else he wonn't be paying 20000 dollar for it

    no , it is not ok to do that. you still have to mention who own the copyright in the place where you mention copyright,but you aren't required to mention it on the box or in ads.

    from the GPL:
    "1. You may copy and distribute verbatim copies of the Program's source code as you receive it, in any medium, provided that you conspicuously and appropriately publish on each copy an appropriate copyright notice ....."
