    Does this mean that you call the people spreading hatred press?
    The index was about freedom of press not about freedom of speech. I rather live in country with a free press than in a country which allows people to call for the killing of other people.

    Very expensive specially designed software. After all, poor Mr. Smith is dead just the same if the life support is shut down by the operating system, the data base, or the email program instead of the processor.

    They should make DRM mandatory for medical systems to make sure that every lifesupport systems uses very expensive specially designed software.Imaging what damage a virus could do with a medical system which runs outlook.
    I am quite sure that all critical systems already use specially designed software.

    the GPL doesn't assume that you agree. it cannot even force you to agree. if you don't agree and still redistribute you are violating copyright.

    the same goes for a commercial licence. it does't force you to pay for a licence. but if you haven't payed and install it on a computer you are violating copyright. The paying for the license goes buy means of agreeing to a contract.

    I think that lawyers would say it in a different way. but basicly this is how comercial proprietary software licences works.

    I think you missunderstand him. he has a valid point.

    What happends when you look at the code of a program under the gpl. Can you ever write a simulair program without having to place it under the GPL?

    I think I will email the fsf to ask it.

    that is a easy one:
    when you distribute software under the GPL. If you do not except the terms of the GPL, you aren't allowed to distribute it because of copyright law.

    you missunderstood the LSB. it says that all the distros will support RPM. that way ISVs can use one format. Debian will still use DEBs, but it supports RPM with the use of the alien tool.

    It isn't saying that they will sue you for making errors. it is saying that that the software must export valid swf files.

    So, you cannot make a swf file which will only work in your own flash tool or flash player. or make a version of swf which only works on a certain operating system.

    isn't a bottle just a small reservior to which you get unlimited access. you are doing excatly the same as what the braodband isps are doing. making it look more complex than it is.

    the big soda reservior would only get those 12 people, because everybody else has figured out that it is cheaper to buy bottles.
    the broadband customers believe everything the isp says,because the don't know the price of a single MB of datatraffic.

    Is it me or are broadband isp always blaming the heavyusers. and are the mayority of users always acepting it, because they aren't part of the so called heavy users.

    I doubt that this trick would work in another branche.can you imagine:"we have to raise the price of cola, because some customers drink the whole bottle empty"

    and how do we know that it is really 1%? In reality it could 20% or something. If you don't want offer an umlimited service just say that, but don't blame your customers for using a service for which they paid.

    I think that the agpl is a test version of the next verion of the GPL. affero is testing it and therefore it is called agpl.
    but when it is finished and all errors are removed it will become GPLv3.
