some of the games i've played with "adaptive AI" work of hit points/damage so if you only have a little bit of health the AI takes it easy on you, in some game if you only have 1% health the AI ignores you, so you can walk strate pass the bots without them seeing/targeting you.but that is more adaptive SKILL not adaptive AI. Adaptive AI lets the AI adapt to your style of play, so if you camp it anticamps, real adaptive AI trys to out think/out plan your moves. so if you like to sneak up on the AI it will start to expect that and then act agenst that (claymores:P). I've try making good ai for game but the biggest problem is performance, alot of "thinking" ai code takes a lot from the CPU and slows the game down where most gamers want good GFX and heads to pop in good gfx. what is why games like UT / Q3 still use waypoints and paths, it cuts back on what the AI needs to think about leaving more CPU free for GFX and other things
i've seen this problem a bit to, WinXP has a spack if the harddrive is not master or if the cdrom is higher in the chain, set the hdd to/dev/hda and the cdrom to/dev/hdc. i first came across this problem when they installed the hdd/dev/hdd and the cdrom/dev/hdb.
i also had a client that brought his system in because the cdrom wasn't working and it turn out to be that someone unpluged it and installed a crack version of XPpro but he said he knew nothing about that(maybe the pixies did it) so to stop this type of happening again i think i might have to kill some pixies;D
when i was 6 years old i claimed the whole universe, the milkyway and this starsystem and my mother said it was mine for the taking. now if thats right his rock is parked in my space and by my recordes show that he owes me back rent for a few 1000000000 years past. if he does not pay i must get him to remove his rock from my space so some other loony can park there rock there. and if he moves his rock i can get him for treaspassing:D
and now that i am 22 how is my claim differ from his ? some times i still sell bits of space to those stupid fools that do not know better,
the BSODs might turn into Green screens of death. and if you lookup linux, antiMS or anything else interesting page results will return unfound or a link to msn.com
most likely a "exception error" or "page fault" with an option do a dump or shutdown within 59 seconds, if you try to talk to them they'll just tell you to reboot, reinstall or talk to someone else and now after hours on hold they'll tell you it's someone elses fault not theres.
does this mean i'm going to get the message "You need to have internet explorer 5.5 or higher to view this page" everytime i try to find something online ? if the desktop market isn't enough they try to own the space between the desktops too. next time i'm inthe usa i might have to hire a pie truck(cream pies) and drive it threw a MS office(i am joking....kinda)
at work my boss makes me use a LGcdrw drive, every time i insert a disk with "Safedisk V2" the drive may run the autorun program and crash or just crash. By crash i mean the drive enters a loop of trying to read the drive and the OS stop responding, if you remove the disk the OS comes back but unstable. if you try to restart the drive tries to boot to cd and crashes. an i have seen this on alot of new LG drives, so to fix the problem i just pay the extra $6AUD and get a ASUS retail boxs with the bonus blank CDs
