>Oh, and to folks in the D.C. and Baltimore areas, the Senator in Baltimore is the place to see it. They have a special 1st-generation print (vs. 3rd or 4th at most theatres) on an intense hi-quality Kodak flavor of film, in a mixture of 8 channel SDDS and Dolby Surround EX that blew the 900-seat theatre away.

All I can say is... YES! Saw the movie there on Friday, and it was GREAT... the print, the sound, everything was great!
>I get the feeling that jarjar has spent a great deal of time in Jamaica.
I went to a showing today with about 5 friends (the same group of people I do say, Rocky Horror Picture Show outings with).. and I couldn't help it.. about 40 seconds into the first scene with JarJar's leader (when he's in cuffs and the jedi is talking about the impending invasion, etc).... I accidently blurted out "Look Ma, An Entire Alien Race of Rastafarians!"... I didn't mean too, and half expected to be kicked out (I was tad louder then I had meant it to be)... but instead everyone in the theater nearly lost it laughing...
(I heard someone else in the back, "And judging from the drool, this one is STONED ALREADY..."..
I mean, Adam is the name I've most associated with d.net... then again, maybe that's just cause he's been one of the more vocal folks.. ehehe.. not saying 'the quiet folk' don't contribute, let's face it, the entire idea behind d.net is the 'power of many' as opposed to 'the significance of the one'.. why does this sound like a Star-trek episode gone awry?:)
That's true, look at what happened to IBM once they got labled "Monopoly".. they got screwed up so bad in so many different directions, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing anymore.
If I was Bill G, I'd be fearing "Sorry Bill, You're a Monopoly Now, Here's the new rules you have to play by" more then "Sorry Bill, but I hate this house, I'm screwing the gardener, and by the way, I've been seeing Rob Malda on the side for a while now too... and he's loaded Debian onto my laptop for me, and, well, to be honest, it blows that hunk of crap you sell away."
You mean politians would say things they think that particular crowd would want to here? Never.
Let's face it, the man is trolling for votes and attention, nothing more. Guess he's trying to shake off that "dead oak-tree" look/feeling he's got about him, by trying to change his whole image... and let's face it.. it's 1999... tech is in this year.:)
Personally, I'm still looking for the geeky-white guy with a sign on his lawn that reads: "Dead Ewok Storage".. but maybe I'm just hoping. :)

First the "flame-broiling powerbook" of a few years ago, and now this?
Not what I had in mind when I said "just watch apple, they'll be on fire once people get tired of lining Bill's pockets" a while back..
Now I don't know.
My damned proxy was cacheing the page, now I see illiad's new page... hmm.. I donno, i guess tomorrow I'll find out..
You know, the whole thing.. (the letters, the threats, now the shutdown).. could be a long elaborate april-fools joke??
Anybody seen anything about this on any of the "mainstream" news sites?
I was really freaked for a second.. then I realized. :)
.. pull that crap on me. :)
It's been one of those weeks, I mean, hell, I couldn't remember what DAY it was today, let alone what DATE...
