  1. Re:zope 3 ? on Nuxeo CPS 3.4.0 released · · Score: 1

Thank you for repeating me ("CPS is still a Zope 2 CMF product"). But it should be pointed out that they could have written a 2.9 app and completely avoided interfaces, schemas, zcml and any parts of 3. To be pedantic, it's really more a Five app, the bridge between 2.x and 3.x. You can continue to argue the difference between "leveraging Zope 3 components" vs "leveraging Zope 3 component architecture" if you wish, but it seems silly to me.

True that CPS is still a Zope 2 CMF product, but the summary is correct - it leverages Zope 3, leverage being the key word. And I mean beyond just having Five included in the Zope core. I'm looking at the download, and they're incorporating the Zope 3 testing mechanism with functional and unit tests, plus they use Zope 3 interfaces, schemas, and some ZCML.

Their totally-Zope 3 work is announced at http://www.z3lab.org/.

PyDev on Eclipse wasn't working well enough for me (esp. on Mac), though I'm about to try the latest version. But Komodo Professional is a bit pricey, and more than Wing IDE.

Not that I disagree with most of your points, but I had to correct your notion that the entire world was in agreement with Clinton's decision. I often hear this point raised, and it's just not right.

I guess I was lucky - after the dotbomb layoffs and then 9/11, it seemed like having a clearance was a job requirement for anything in the DC area. I imagine the smaller companies aren't going to shell out to get you cleared, but the larger ones might if your skills match the job they want to fill.

Does no one ask why Intelligent Design proponents are not clamoring to get their views into Chemistry, Physics, and other science classes besides biology? After all, every science has gaps in understanding or evidence. They all use theories, and since ID'ers like to trivialize the word theory with air quotes, why don't they feel their "theory" (which is actually a hypothesis or less) of an intelligent designer doesn't have a place in the other sciences?

This is obviously a rhetorical question - but I feel it is a clear example of the fact that the ID movement is totally an ideological, and political, movement bent on removing evolution from the classroom, and a dishonest movement as well. Their egotism concerning human origins is intense, so while an ID'er can ignore teaching physics students "some scientists believe the laws of physics were designed and put into place by an intelligent force", they cannot stomach a branch of science that to them makes humans less than the image of a god. Since they can't teach their Sunday School lessons in science class, they wrap it up to look vaguely like science, use a bunch of smoke and mirrors arguments, and get god into school that way.
