Funny, most of the market seems to be heading in the opposite direction.
If EA is serious about this, I'll start buying their games they do this with just to make a point.
There is quite a difference between a government facility and a rental store, though. Especially if the laptops in question at the school were required in the curriculum.
No one forced these people to rent a laptop from this store.
So again, unless someone can produce a document that clearly states how this is illegal, I'm not changing my stance.
Your argument hinges on the fact what they did was illegal. Show me what document makes this illegal.
Because from what I see? A judge, who is supposed to uphold the law and no doubt knows it better than I, said it was fine and dandy.
I'm going to get hated on for this, but if you're renting a laptop. it's not yours.
This company has every right to do whatever the hell they want with it.
Don't like it? Tough. Either go buy a laptop, which makes it yours, or find a way to disable the program, which no doubt is against the rental agreement.
I really wish they had shown a bit more of the defense bit, instead of shoving that at the end of the video.
I found that far more interesting than a sequence of pre-programmed attacks.
I actually prefer Terraria to Minecraft myself, I don't see it so much as a clone but as a different branch.
I'm more or less talking about big companies making exact clones because Minecraft sold well.
Big companies pull this shit with their personal taxes all the time. So a company is finally willing to share a tax hole with it's consumers, and suddenly every politician gets their panties in a bunch.
...it's just because it's NOT Facebook.
I'll take a faceless giant company (who no doubt knows more about me than I do) over some company run by an egotistical dweeb any day.
See, that's the problem. Where I live, there are no trains, buses or taxis, and driving ANYWHERE of interest takes half a day.
Believe me, if there was a good train or bus system, I'd be riding that every single day.
Preferably one that doesn't break my plugins every month.
Thanks for the great use Mozilla, but I'm jumping ship to something that's more stable/supportable.
So that leaves out both Chrome(terrible plugins in comparison to Firefox) Firefox(batshit insane update schedule) and IE(...do i need to explain this one?)
Because clearly there are very few of them here, because the term "nerd" assumes you have a few good brain cells.
Anyone who thinks Sony will "go out of business" over this, or any other issue they've had of late, lacks even one.
As much as I'd LOVE to see it, it won't happen, despite the fact that people have told me over and over since the root kit issue it would.
I see the "Sony is falling!" people on the same level that I saw the "The world is ending in May!" morons.
"It's about handing over control to the gamer"

That is by far the most hideous laptop I've ever laid eyes on. Even my old one with it's cracked and busted screen would be preferred over that.

This is such a security risk, just thinking about about the concept makes my head hurt.

Make Scott Pilgrim an online game, dammit.
I'd happily shell out $10 for online support for that.

Now we're going to start seeing tons of minecraft clones, since that works OH SO WELL for FPS games.
Anyone for Call of Minecraft 7?
...I like this idea.
Though, can we make "teams", with some prisoners in each to help empty our jails and to secretly make sure both sides lose?
Every week some genius solves the energy crisis. Call me when one is actually put into use.
...my wrists are screaming in pain just /looking/ at it.

Can we please throw away the broken patent system, and just force company heads to duel at high noon when two companies have an argument?
Thanks corporate America for fucking over the little guy again.
Quite alright, happens. =P

Did...did you even /read/ my post, or did you just read the subject?

I have not, but I'll look more into it now, thanks for the suggestion!
Human beings fear what they do not understand.
So instead of looking like a wimp, they come up with reasons to rationalize their fear.
