    You've been able to plug a flashdrive with a PDF on it into many Lexmark printers and print directly from the printer's control panel for years.

    To be "fair", theists use the mere existence of life in a universe of chaos as the evidence that there is a God. The more improbable something is, the easier it is to believe it was not caused by chance. Also, not all Christians believe in a God who intervenes in the world. In fact, I believe most Christian religions believe that God merely "lit the fuse" of life and sits back and lets it happen, only sending the occasional message to people.

    It's hard to get the zinc out of the pennies because the copper is coating it. I guess you could come up with some kind of de-electroplating process, but that seems time consuming.

    You joke, but every time someone tries to get rid of the Penny, some clown from Illinois screams bloody murder because that would mean Lincoln's visage wouldn't be on a coin anymore. The solution would be to put Obama on the penny, and then the haters would outlaw it instantly.

    I think that's because the 50c piece is heavier than two quarters, and you can make any change without them. Stores aren't going to bother with them.

    There was a time when the businesses at the intersection of Mannheim and St. Charles road had the highest sales tax in the nation. IL + Cook County + Bellwood + a TIF district. I think it went away after Cook County reduced the sales tax again.

    Because a supercomputer is different from the other kinds of computers? AMD is cheap, and when you are building a machine with many thousands of cores, you want cheap because your constraints aren't the processing power of the individual core.

    Except the kid. Do you know what it is like to grow up with untreated ADHD? It's awful. That NYT article is crap. Tolerance for side-effects is not the same as a reduction in the intended effect.

    Can't speak for Ontario, or really any other school, but I went to a Catholic high school in the US, and was taught basically none of that. Never heard any of that in church, either. Modern Catholics are more about encouraging the positive than preaching about the negative.
