I do come on strong here. I don't really want to see blood and guts flying. I'm not even all that angry.
I have found a few meathods of dealing with those people. --The ones who are primarily draining to associate with, are always in need of help, who always make their selfish demands upon you when you can least afford it, and above all, never, never grow or learn from their own mistakes
1. Always be aware. Look for the signs. Quite simply, about half the people out there are on paths seeking their higher selves, and half are actively deteriorating and will absolutely seek to take down anybody around them they can get their fingers into.
2. Not all of them are psychos, but then psychos are just the models which are damaged. The other type are much more difficult to detect except over long durations of observation.
3. Be ruthless in cutting these sorts of people out of your life. Don't worry about hurting their feelings, because they clearly do not worry about hurting yours. Guilt trips are one of their prime methods of control. It's okay to be ruthless! --I have to keep telling myself this, because I'm currently dealing with a particularly difficult case, (the skill level seems to always go up as one progresses through life), and I do find myself guilted into shit I should know better to avoid. In the end, allowing these sorts a piece of your time and energy only hinders your efforts to be your best and most useful self, and in the end it helps nobody, becuase any efforts are entirely wasted on the selfish. It's a drain, and in these final few months and years we have left, having enough energy and internal strength is going to be of paramount importance.
"Sociopaths are not human. Destroy them before they destroy you. Don't waste your good conscience on them, because they haven't got one."
based on that, you would be Chaotic Evil.
Gotta disagree. Psychos are monsters.
If somebody were to fight his way through the throngs of zombie minions and into the heart of the dark empire, dispatch all of the evil advisors and commanders and plant a white sword in Bush's chest, then that guy would be a hero. Probably not even a chaotic one.
Heck, a paladin would be well suited for such a task.
Ummmm, Enron started down its path and did most of its misdeeds under the watchfull eyes of the Clinton administration. They are being prosecuted by the Bush administration.
"Ummmm" yourself, smart-ass. I don't subscribe to the Tweedle-Dum & Tweedle-Dee system of politics, so you can take back your imagined slight. Anyway, I hope that while BushCo is vigorously 'prosecuting' all those guilty in the Enron scandal that they don't overlook the members of their own administration.
You've got it backwards again. Where recently have you read of day after day of discovering yet another mass grave? Could it be... Iraq? And which administration just deposed the rulers responsible for those mass graves? Isn't it Cart^H^H^H^H Clint^H^H^H^H^H, er, Bush?
What on earth are you talking about here? I don't have anything backwards. I wasn't making any allusions to mass-graves in Iraq. I was talking about dealing with psychopaths; indeed, when writing the sentence, I considered using the terms, "burn" "kill" "String up" "Run out of town", but settled in the end on "Bury" because it seemed the least awkward and violent of the lot. (In truth, I don't really know what you'd do with a psychopath. Instituting any system which legally kills is a bad idea simply because it can be mis-used. But psychopaths and sociopaths are really tough to deal with. Jail is expensive and ineffective since they don't actually have the brain-wiring to reform. They're almost worse than nuclear waste! But that's not the point. ..
Though it is unrelated, I can't help but want to respond to the rest of your dumb argument. ..
I suspect that if most people looked at the situation in Iraq, they could figure out who filled many many mass graves of up to 15,000 people each, and who removed the psychopath who was responsible for creating those mass graves. And, although it was unfortunate that anyone had to die, the total number killed in the war which freed the Iraqi people from Saddam killed far fewer people than are found in many of the mass graves that Saddam filled. A one time cost for a long term benefit.
1. Iraq's problem was an internal affair. They didn't ask for help.
2. The war had nothing to do with 'liberation'. Only the really, really, really dense among us still believe that BushCo's intentions were anything but greed and power-related.
3. One-time cost? *Cough* Excuse me?! Are you one of those guys who watches CNN instead of the real news? Even the casual observer with half a brain will note that Iraq is quickly becoming the next Viet Nam in terms of on-going disorganization and a rapidly mounting death toll. On both sides.
Saddam was nuts. But so is Bush. The difference is that Bush has power behind him, and more than enough brainwashed idiots eager to follow him straight into armageddon!
Hey great! A guy who plays by his own made up rules that are uniquely advantageous to him. Ummmm, how is it again that you are determining what is good? (And apparently good just for you?)
No. Absolutely not! Good for the world. I long ago decided that I would strive at all times to be of service where and how I am best able to help the world and the people around me. --But it doesn't surprise me that you would assume that I am only looking out for myself. That particular kind of mistake is called, 'projection.' Among other things, it indicates a fairly limited imagination. --No wonder you haven't figured out yet that you are being duped by your own government!
And what pray tell will the free software community do? "Unified force!"? "Revenge" you say? Is that part of your "chaotic good"? Does anyone get hurt of lose their job in this? Or are they buried?
I'm having trouble understanding what the heck are you talking about, but I'll try to answer you. ..
The software community is made up of people with com
If there was any question remaining about "Greedy, Self-Serving, Delusional Assholes In Charge" being the number one problem in the world today. . , --If Enron's spectacular self-destruction, (closely followed by the near identical recent fiascos by 17 other massive corporate monsters,). . , if BushCo's continuing drive to destroy the universe were not enough to convince people that it's time we started hauling psychopaths out of offices and mass-burying them, then perhaps this latest will be enough to serve notice! (Especially to the tech-geek community, so much of which seems not to 'get it' when the issue isn't directly related to the manipulation of ones and zeros.)
But you know. . . My old plan is still a good plan.
The game is entirely rigged, and as such, those who play by the rules are chumps. Make up your own rules, make them good ones, and then follow them. That'd be "Chaotic Good" to those of you out there with little bags of dice. The only alignment worth living!
--With the exception of small producers with no corporate ties, (and the odd Lucasarts game when Lucas' brain was still made of grey matter), I've never payed for software in my life, much less an operating system, and I'm not about to start now. SCO can go blow.
--And you watch! If SCO wins their little scramble, it'll be amazing to see just how fast the free software community responds. Talk about a unified force! "Linux; The Revenge"
Sign me up for an advance copy of that!
Sociopaths are not human. Destroy them before they destroy you. Don't waste your good conscience on them, because they haven't got one.
Ah, you recognize me then. Very good. One of us here has power. If you were confident in yourself, you might post as something other than a Coward.
The metaphors dealt out in this neck of the woods are heavy handed. But then, this is the land of many thick skulls!
But seriously, if you're going to judge the poster in such a foolish way, then you do yourself poor service. Fragile egos don't grow strong by avoiding lessons.
I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Now, hopefully, you have the balance you need to do more research.
What if the reasons behind your ADHD have less to do with your genetic profile than they do with the foods you ingest, the life stresses surrounding you, the environmental toxins in your home and workplace, (both chemical and electromagnetic in nature), etc, etc.
What if you're using a chemical to turn off the parts of your body and brain which are reacting to more immediate, more critical issues? Is it not perhaps better to search out these problems and solve them rather than zombify yourself? (And don't kid yourself. I have known many people who complained of decreased creativity, a lack of dreaming, lowered energy; a dolby-stereo existence while using anti-depressants.) Plus Paxil is a particularly nasty one; it's physically addictive and can have some fairly unpleasant effects on those who try to get off it. Takes about a month to clear it from your system, while drinking fresh water and clean foods.
Anti-depressants are poison of the worst kind, because they make it possible to put up with that which should be intollerable.
Caffeine is a pretty darned useful drug, and while you are sort of correct in some of what you say regarding it, your puritanical assertions are silly and somewhat juvenile, (as are most puritanical assertions).
The last time I used Caffeine was on a three day drive where I'd been unable to get more than a couple of hours sleep for several nights in a row. The vehicle was rented for a set period of time and needed to be returned come hell or high water. A "Good night's sleep and decent day planning" would simply not have cut it. Coffee kept me on schedule and on the road safely.
Further, while Caffeine may not enhance concentration, stopping one from drifting off to sleep certainly maintains concentration. And guess what? Nobody is asking for more than that when they drink coffee. --And when you are traveling down the road at highway speeds, maintaining concentration is exactly what the doctor ordered. --Except you don't need a doctor to order it.
Now, granted, it is certainly possible to abuse and over-use coffee, as it is possible with any drug. I like to only use it now and again, because that way it works much more powerfully with a smaller amount. Plus, it feels more like a treat when I have it rarely. (I adore the taste of coffee, and I always try to use organically grown ingredients whenever possible.) It's sometimes nice to have a cup when I have company over and we want to enjoy each other's presence super-late into the night. It's good to have around during Role Playing games and the like.
Further, unlike drugs such as alcohol or pot, it doesn't modify one's character, creativity or type of awareness, (that is, not beyond pepping one into higher energy.) Nor does it cause any kind of neurological damage. --The only drawback is that it can be a little hard on the stomach and immune system, but so long as one is healthy, this is barely an issue. Coffee addiction is very, very easy to break. Less than a week of cold turkey in most cases. You certainly don't need a year to leave coffee behind!
Really. Coffee is one of the good ones. There are a few plants out there which can be seen as gifts to humankind. So long as one is not being another dull puritan.
As for your other points. . . I agree that prescribing an anti-depressant for ADHD is in nearly all cases, a severely stupid idea, but you still don't appear to know what you're talking about regarding the condition.
This poster had some interesting comments which you might want to look at.
Take care!

Wow. You have an asshole for a roomie.

Sorry to hear it. I've known several of his sort, so I know where you're coming from.
--I've also observed that people of a selfish nature are quite naturally predisposed to using any excuse close at hand which will get them out of being responsible, non-selfish idiots. A 'disease' is a perfect excuse, because it plays on the guilt chord which the rest of (real) humanity is strung with. Your asshole room mate is missing this string; the best he can do is act as though he has one. I'm not kidding. We're talking about a different kind of life form here. I've heard it said that sociopaths are the ones which are broken; when properly tuned, they are much, much harder to detect because they know how to act and play on guilt and forgiveness in others to endless degrees without ever going too far. --Psycopaths are the very broken ones; and they still get away with murder! (There's one at the helm of the US right now, for example).
I'd turf your asshole room mate ASAP because he'll NEVER get any better. They just get older. He'll continue to drain you until you get away from him, so do it now. --And don't let him guilt you; animals like him don't have properly formed consciences of their own, so you don't have to worry about hurting him.
It is exactly this kind of post which makes the internet a powerful tool for 'Good'. Networking rocks.
Thanks for the info! I'd done only sparse research in this particular area; while I had my suspicions, I hadn't made the actual connection between specific foodstuffs and ADD type neurology.
Your post goes into my 'Research Files' for further follow-up. Kudos!
We don't know if they are lying and we probably never will know in our lifetime.
Some of us already know. You could too if you bothered to go and find out. TV ain't going to give you the answers no matter how many re-runs you sit through waiting for the big expose.
TV will remain a tool of control so long as it lies in the hands of the media giants.
the history channel is also currently showing an hour-long show on these recently declassified files. worth checking out.
Because, as we all know, Television doesn't lie. --I mean, look, they even used the word, 'Documentary', which doesn't just mean 'True', but really, really, really True! --Even True-er than the News!
Nope. The media has never been used to manipulate populations ever before. Especially not these days, when freedom and enlightenment are at the top of every corporate/political agenda!
Puh-lease.
Think about it! The 'History' channel? Who writes the history books? Sheesh! --When all media is owned by corporate entities, it only makes sense that a slanted version of 'History' be pumped at the population on a regular basis in order to unify belief in a candy-coated reality where the Good Americans Of Noble Lineage Vanquish Evil.
It's pretty amazing that people can remain blind to such massive manipulations when it's sitting right in their living rooms!
Goebbels used the same damned technique, for crying out loud! Open your eyes!
I had to read this several times before I could believe you actually said this. You're actually claiming that someone purposely created a show espousing a conspiracy theory just to make conspiracy theories look bad. If this is not a perfect example of twisting around a fact to make it fit your argument, I don't know what is. Great piece of recursive reasoning there.
Yes, I'm 'actually' claiming this. It's standard, tried and true practice. You can even find counter-intelligence instruction manuals which describe step by step how to implement such meat and potatos operations. After all, they work like a charm. -The most recent notable example was actually a Roswell television special, where 'new, never-before seen documents' were to be revealed. --As it turned out, the producers were merely espousing an old and particularly flakey theory based around some papers which anybody who knows about the case recognized as being nothing new at all. Indeed, one might ask why, of all the many threads surrounding Roswell, they should pick a theory generally agreed to be one of the more cloudy and worthless among the bunch. --And further, why they should the producers loudly advertise it to be 'New' evidence, when really it was not?
The net effect? Despite the fact that the program purported to demonstrate factual data proving that there was a cover-up, all the normal people who watched that I asked opionions of afterwards said that while they had previously believed that the government was hiding something before, now believed that the whole issue was bunk because the 'evidence' presented by the show had seemed so flakey.
In other words, 'success'.
You have to remember that television is owned and operated by the enemy. So long as this remains the case, it will be used as a tool of control, not one of enlightenment.
You need to do a LOT more reading, I think. For instance, even with the lightest dip into the subject, you will quickly learn that the secret services have had a hand in nearly every popular New Age circle in existence. Look up the term, 'COINTEL,' one of the better documented programs. The game is called 'Disinformation', and it's as old as the hills and it works exactly as described; Muddy the waters with garbage so that the people with enough gumption to look for the truth appear to be idiots so that the rest of the sheep become further convinced to stay within the control boundaries.
Honestly, you should look into this. You'll learn a lot about it if you allow yourself.
No it wasn't the history channel thing that convinced me it wasn't a UFO. In fact there wasn't really much in that program I didn't already know. Slashdot didn't convince me it wasn't a UFO either. I've just grown up a little.
Fair enough. We must all do the best we can in our searches. I wish you clarity and strength on your continued path, wheresover it may take you.
Having confidence (or faith) in someone's words is commonly known as "trust". You should try it.
I endeavor to place faith with those who earn it. I simply find it interesting that so many people place trust and faith in such alarmingly shoddy arguments just so long as they see the right colored flag snapping crisply in the air.
If you believe that the state has no interest in the welfare of common humanity, then what is there to be gained by keeping anything a secret at all?
What is there to be gained? How about, "Power and Security for the Selfish." --When one dips into the right lines of research, one learns that the primary consolidations of human power, including industrial, political and ecconomic remain, as they have for the last couple thousand years or more, with the same few family lines. Rothschilde, being one of the big ones. --Here's a homework project for you; follow the breadcrumbs and find out who has final control of the US Federal Reserve. The answers will make your eyebrows rise an inch or two.
Keeping in mind, of course, that even these human agencies are pawns. But I wouldn't want to dip into the taboo arena of 'conspiracy theory'. --After all, the media has conveniently instructed us that conspiracy theory is 'un-cool', and I certainly wouldn't want to lose the respect of my peers, would I? Having no spine, I just couldn't stand the thought of being called names by all the drones.
And don't be silly. GPS, computers and satellite phones are frustrating bits of stone-age technology. But slap on some shiney packaging and call them 'New and Revolutionary', and the populace will be more than happy.
This guy, (probably through laziness), uses here a technique which masters in the art of counter intelligence and social programming long ago discovered to be highly effective. --That is, drop a few sort-of related factoids, and the minds of the target audience, (which are already eager to believe in the comfy Learning Channel version of reality), will happily assume that there is both causation and effect where none really exists. They then go back to sleep before any glimmer of scary thinking can occur. Witness the +5 moderation of the above post. And stand in awe. And fear. These are the same breed of drooling morons who will turn you over to the Homeland Police someday soon.
Anybody who cares to actually do the research, (as the poster so blithly suggests), will quickly realize that it is quite impossible that plastic army men and one guy with a head injury are accountable for the thousands of grey aliens which have been witnessed around the globe over the last century.
And I love this one; who cares when the term 'weather balloon' was coined? That detail has absolutely no bearing on anything important. --Why even bring it up? Perhaps the author hopes that when it is read quickly along with his other bulleted factoids, it might pass as some sort of evidence which sort of means something. --A technique used by shabby university students trying to pad essays the world over.
As for buddy's final, heart-stopping question. .,
You say we recovered advanced alien tech. You say we recovered alien bodies. Then tell me: Where the hell is this technology?
This is Jr. Highschool junk philosophy at its finest! Why not also throw up the, "If God exists, how could he let there be War?" argument and be done with it? Grow up.
Only those living in happy TV land believe that the state has any interest whatsoever in the welfare of common humanity. There's a reason you can't buy even the most mundane, human-derived military secret down at the local Radio Shack.
Think about it. Aside from everything else, (and there are more points than I can even begin to count off the top of my head), there is no profit in war if you sell your country and the world on technology which is actually effective.
The real war is one you can't see. --And by my estimate, you've already lost about four fifths of it if you are willing to post garbage like the above. Sheesh.
This is excellent writing. Thank you for the voice of sanity. I often wonder how the same government which can't balance a budget, and can't hide from the public either bugged party offices or intern oral sex, is capable of covering up Kennedy's FBI assassination, a faked moon landing, and space aliens. This is not a criticism of the American government, rather the reality that they are human beings like us who make mistakes.
You're all over the place, there, my friend.
Kennedy's assassination was no more covered up than are the current lies believable about the war in Iraq. Both depend entirely on how willingly blind the public wants to be.
And sheesh! Man DID land on the moon; that whole televised 'conspiracy' (which interestingly, got its own prime time special presentation), was a perfectly executed set piece designed to make conspiracy theory look idiotic. You obviously fell for it. Nice job.
And oral sex is only a big deal when you sic the press on it. A selfish dork like Bush is going to have a thousand and one skeletons in his closet, but so long as he holds to the game plan, (that of plunging the world into flames), the powers behind the throne have no need to remove him through some foolish theatrical production.
I agree with a previous poster who claimed that the desire to believe in conspiracies alleviates some from accepting that life can be unpredictable and tragic
You are only partly correct, because again you're lumping. Just because some people are delusional and weak, does not mean that corruption in government does not exist. And interestingly, my life is, while not predictable, is neither randomly tragic. Knowledge protects. --But there are those who don't want you to realize this; who want you to think that you are powerless, and that those who seek and find power are fools when really they are the only ones who have any control over their lives at all.
Just watched a program about this on history channel last night(instead of sleeping like I should have been). Project mogul basically consisted of very high altitude balloons(I think they said the balloons were something like 500 feet tall and went up 100000 feet) with microphones to listen for soviet nuclear testing.
I used to kinda think it was a UFO that crashed, but now I just think all those people are full of shit.
I can't express how encouraging it is to know just how easily your belief systems can be altered by a simple television. 'Cuz media has never been used to manipulate societal beliefs before. Heavens! The History Channel only tells the Truth, after all, with that nice, soothing narrator's voice which we have each been taught since birth to trust with all our hearts. --As we sat with our still-forming brains and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, (with the crusts cut off), before the wonderous, all-knowing CRT.
this stupid talk of legislating new, tougher control measures (which will undoubtably be misused to further erode freedom), right when spamming seems to have suddenly reached an all-time high?
Could there be a pattern?
I mean, let's look at how things work. ..
Whenever peace talks in Israel threaten to begin, the Mossad/CIA send in another Greenbaumed suicide bomber. Need an excuse to start a dumb war? Just orchestrate an attack on your own country, and the sheeple will follow whatever dumb-ass directives you place before them.
If the people have the gall, (or the remaining grey matter), to actually complain and argue, don't worry. They've been trained to work in the spirit of 'comprimise'. --Which means that even if you don't get all your lunatic demands, you'll still get some of them. Then you just repeat the process until you're holding all the marbles. It's a one-way street and it works like a charm.
People forget that we're dealing with psychopathic assholes here. They want the world in flames.
Fighting 'Spam'? Horseshit. Deleting twenty misleading message headers, (provided by American psyops; you DO realize that the people who run the company upon which the entire Internet depends is owned by the department of defense?), only takes about thirty seconds of my day. I'd rather put up with that than the alternative.
You post on Slashdot? You must be a hacker. Now we'll let you off this time with a warning, (and perhaps a sound beating), but next time we'll flip a switch and suspend your money 'privileges'.
A world without physical cash is a bad, bad, bad idea. And it's coming, thanks to all this low-level anti-money propaganda. (And yes, it's deliberate.)
The silly checkout girl at my local grocery store boasts with pride, "I don't even care if I've known the customer for two years. I turn away at least two or three cash transactions every shift. I don't even care if the machine says its real. If it looks even a bit fishy to me, I won't accept it. --I even had this one old guy whine at me that he got the bill from a bank machine. I don't care. I just turn them away. I'm just doing my job."
Great. We've had color inkjet printers and color copiers for a decade now. But teenage twit girls are suddenly going all Hello-Kitty-Nazi-Cash-Enforcer now?
Silly checkout girls are exactly the kind of nitwit who'll survive the next decade without ending up in an American gulag. --Because they're easy to program and they do exactly as instructed by the ephemeral whisper which percolates through culture from the truth-manufacturers at the top of the paranoid control pyramid running America today.
Effective manipulation can be achieved in three ways;
1. When the victims believe that they reach the desired conclusion all on their lonesome without anybody's guidance.
2. When the directive is delivered through pop culture. "All the Popular Kids are Doing It"
3. When the directive is delivered by an authority figure who instills fear in the alternative. (Either by pointing at things like, 'terrorists and counter-fitters', or futher down the line when Fascism is in full bloom, through the time-honored favorite, "You will, or else.")
The way to deal with it? --In America, use older installations of propaganda against the enemy.
Spend cash, and explain to people who try to stop you that only Communists would favor a cashless society. (When the subject doesn't grasp how or why, cite the, "Do as you are told, commrade, or we will turn off your bankcard," example. Then wave a flag or something.)
Horrifyingly lame, but amazingly effective. We're dealing with sheep here, folks, and there's a war on. (The people caught in the 'Matrix', even as you try to free them, are working for the enemy until they are free.)
The only way we've got a chance of preventing counterfeiting is to finally switch from paper money to digital transactions.
Hm. You post on Slashdot? You must be a hacker. We'll let you off this time with a warning, but next time, we'll flip a switch and suspend your money 'privileges'.
A world without physical cash is a bad, bad, bad idea. And it's coming, thanks to such thoughtless suggestions and all this low-level anti-money propaganda.
And THAT's the kind of nitwit who'll survive the next decade without ending up in an American gulag. The easy-to-program brainless twit who does as s/he's told without even realizing that s/he is nothing but a tool of the paranoid control-freeks running America today.
I wonder how long until this kind of lame story makes it to the headlines of Time magazine in this new and oh-so-invigorating propaganda effort against Canada. Gee, we didn't want to support Bush's illegal war effort which has turned Iraq into a cauldron of ever-deepening blood, fire and radioactive misery? --Where, *ahem* no WMDs have been found. Aww shucks. So now Bush wants to punish Canada for being a nation which doesn't want to promote death? Great. Just great.
This Mad Cow nonsense, (probably planted by some US black-ops dept.), and TIME magazine fueling ridiculous fears about Canada is complete crap. And probably will be effective crap too. It seems that many millions of Americans have been effectively programmed. (And we opened our homes to stranded US travelers during 9-11, for goodness sake!)
Anschluss, anyone? (Look it up.)
Just remember, my friends to the south. ..
Hitler bit off more than he could chew, and so will Bush. Any study of WWII and the current world situation makes it painfully clear to the observer that Hitler had no chance, and neither does Bush! --Even just in a matter of numeric strength, the odds are overwhelming. Even with the famed technology and efficiency of the Nazi military, the German fascist state was crushed into dust in less than four years, thanks to Hitler's sociopathic/delusional brain wiring which always leans heavily towards short-term gain plans which are ultimately self-destructive. You think a nation of 350 million stands a chance against a billion Russian, Chinese, Saudi, European troops troops armed with European high tech military gear? --Even after trying to 'soften' them up with SARS? Give it a rest. The US is doomed if they don't do something about their dictator, which they won't.
WWII was a trial run for events unfolding today. And the results will be the same. The end result desired by the architects of this scenario is NOT the building of an American/Nazi empire, but the destruction/meat-grinding of a few billion people. America will be toppled, but only at great cost, and Humanity will not be the winner.
You have been warned. Good luck out there, and remember; any kind of murder ALWAYS costs you in the long run. When the crunch falls in your neighborhood, be kind and rational and supportive of those weaker than you. Act with grace, dignity and courage when facing down the Beast, and you will be okay. You might still die, but death is just a doorway and our bodies are just temporary containers. 'God and Heaven' are Mind control lies designed to create stupidity and fear and poor choices. How YOU react is what matters. You are the culmination of your choices. Make good ones, because nobody is coming to forgive you and save your soul if only you 'have faith and stop asking the hard questions'.

--Here's a copy of the Toronto Star's reaction to TIME Magazine's attack, since the link seems to be down at the moment. (Gee. With the CIA on the swtich of the entire Internet, is this a surprise?)
DAVID OLIVE COLUMNIST The Toronto Star
The cover of Time magazine's latest Canadian edition notes that our "nation's influence in the world is shrinking."
Inside this edition of the branch-plant magazine are 10 pages of features and columns on Canada's pint-sized military, dwindling diplomatic corps and shrinking foreign aid budget. Plus a reminder it's not too late for Canada to win a coveted prime ministerial invitation to George W. Bush's ranch in Texas by following the ennobling Aussie example of outsourcing your foreign policy to Washington.
The cover image is a map of North America in which there's a big empty space where Canada used to be. And the main headline: "Would anyone notice if Canada disappeared?"
Well, hypotheticals are tough.
What if Austria disappeared? Or Donald Rumsfeld? Or kabuki?
My own speculations run in the opposite direction.
It's past noon, my friend. It's getting too late even for civil uprising. The lock-down is very nearly complete, and people are too dazed to realize it. If you wanted to organize a civil war, I don't think you could pull it together without getting yourself vanished long before you managed to get anything started. You couldn't use the net; you'd have to do it in basements and using local people, (And good luck finding enough like-minded neighbors willing to die for their country!)
The science of cell networks with physical go-betweens is long dead. People have been numbed into blithering stupidity. --A great many of them still believe that Bush is 'da man. (With the exception of the ecconomy. But so what? Bush will either rig another election, or the guy from the other side will get in. --Who also happens to be a Bonesmen this time around. Gee, no kidding?)
I hate to say it, but the ship is done for. It is now the time to get yourself out of America toot-sweet. 'Cuz in a few short years, French and German shells are going to be raining through American skies. --But not before Bush and his gang of psychopaths has turned the middle east into a firey cauldron and scooped up all native dissenters, such as yourself.
This is not a drill. Check out this site on American concentration camps. --A little alarmist, but there is a healthy dose of real info in there, too. Here are several others. . . Ashcroft planOkanagon County And my 'favorite', which describes just how willing American soldiers are to break the Geneva Convention in Afghansitan when dealing with 'terrorists'.
Brutal. And for the most part, invisible. Seriously. Buy a mini-van and load up what you need, or ship your essential stuff, board a plane and get out. It's not as hard as it sounds, and hey, you might just live to see the end of the decade.
It's a drain, and in these final few months and years we have left, having enough energy and internal strength is going to be of paramount importance.

based on that, you would be Chaotic Evil.
And the crowd goes wild.

Ummmm, Enron started down its path and did most of its misdeeds under the watchfull eyes of the Clinton administration. They are being prosecuted by the Bush administration.
.
.
.
But that's not the point. .
Though it is unrelated, I can't help but want to respond to the rest of your dumb argument. .
I'm having trouble understanding what the heck are you talking about, but I'll try to answer you. .
The software community is made up of people with com

Good luck, my friend!

Take care!

Good luck!

Some of us already know. You could too if you bothered to go and find out. TV ain't going to give you the answers no matter how many re-runs you sit through waiting for the big expose.
TV will remain a tool of control so long as it lies in the hands of the media giants.
-FL
-FL
-FL

I endeavor to place faith with those who earn it. I simply find it interesting that so many people place trust and faith in such alarmingly shoddy arguments just so long as they see the right colored flag snapping crisply in the air.

-FL
As for buddy's final, heart-stopping question. .
Sheesh.
Good luck. You'll need it.
-FL
-FL
I used to kinda think it was a UFO that crashed, but now I just think all those people are full of shit.
I can't express how encouraging it is to know just how easily your belief systems can be altered by a simple television. 'Cuz media has never been used to manipulate societal beliefs before. Heavens! The History Channel only tells the Truth, after all, with that nice, soothing narrator's voice which we have each been taught since birth to trust with all our hearts. --As we sat with our still-forming brains and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, (with the crusts cut off), before the wonderous, all-knowing CRT.
-FL
How do you know if buddy's words are insightful and informative if you haven't read his documentation?
That takes quite an act of faith. Are you a god worshipper as well?
-FL
Could there be a pattern?
I mean, let's look at how things work. .

Effective manipulation can be achieved in three ways;

This Mad Cow nonsense, (probably planted by some US black-ops dept.), and TIME magazine fueling ridiculous fears about Canada is complete crap. And probably will be effective crap too. Just remember, my friends to the south. .
