I wound up taking a similar approach to learning how to program but rather than VB.NET I dove headfirst into VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for Microsoft Excel. I think it may have been the perfect intro to scripting, working with spreadsheet data you can easily see what all of the data is that you're working with and you can see what it's actually doing. All of the default libraries are Excel related but it seems like it can be expanded out a bit to include other VB libraries if needed.
I'd definitely recommend this as an intro to programming.
Sports brands, fast-food, clothing, news outlets, comic books, etc all likely use that type of brain activity. It all has to do with brand recognition and groupthink mentality. Basically, anything that has FANS will have a pseudo-religious reaction.
This just sounds like yet another thin excuse for gas prices to go up.
Don't like your elected official? Don't vote. There are plenty of alternative power structures.
"[New York City] just laid off 500 public school aides who make $18,000 a year, while they’re paying all these [230 software consultants] that are making $400,000 and $500,000 a year for a failed system." http://www.democracynow.org/2010/3/26/juan_gonzalez_ny_pays_230_consultants
There's an app for that.

I usually find taking the stairs to be quite uncomfortable when I have blue balls. I would much rather take the lift.
Maybe, say a, a cop?

On behalf of Exxon/Mobil, I'd just like to say that it's about god damn time.
Unless all you want to do is look at what your desktop image is then dual screens (w/ nvidia drivers) do not work at all.
