I would be interested how Graphiccards would perform under Berlin.
Especially 3d Graphics.
Shouldn't Berlin perfrom _a lot_ better then X?
I mean..it is designed to be a 3d environment isn't it?
Maybe it isn't the time yet. Berlin has a long way to go...

I don't have those manpages handy at the moment...
but I would like to know if it is possible to put the shortcuts to the consoles somewhere else then the function keys. I am sure that this is possible..the question is more...can I put that shortcuts to my keypad on the right in the way that I type alt + 3 for console 3 and alt + 14 for console 14. Not that I need that...just thought it would be fun.;)

So will I be able to work on 16 consoles in parallel??
That'll increase my productivity a lot..very cool.
I think what he meant is that there won't be only _one_ distribution but there will be _one_ standard distribution. One distribution the others can build on. There always will be a RedHat, Debian and a SuSE but they will share the same file locations and maybe even the same packaging or more likley a compatible packaging system.
I have to commit I am GNU/Linux Fan since a long time and I am impressed what new software announcements and innovations are made nearly every day. In comparison with announcements from Microsoft as seen today "New Screenshots of Whistler" with some bigger icons and features like "A new shutdown" Button, I don't understand this world any more.
I ever thougt most people reading slashdot understood the meaning of GNU/Linux and how it will change our world. But when I look at 200 Comments being made about Windows Screenshots, and 30 Comments being made about a Gnome Accessibility Lab, then I start to doubt.
Can't we just move on and forget Windows?
Will I have to feed my computer in the future?? Sorry...I don't know what I am talking about..

http://www.suse.de/de/produkte/susesoft/linux/Pake te_prof/pak_diff.html This makes me think. The list of packages included in the Professional Version but not the Personal. So why does the homeuser of the Personal SuSE not get Abiword? The list speaks for itself...there are plenty packages I would want to have as a Homeuser.

IE is not running on linux, so it is not running on the future platform for desktop users. Netscape crashes too often, lynx doesn't show me any graphics... and konqueror ist integrated in kde, which is not bundled with debian... only choice left? Mozilla We are forced to use it, don't say it's dead!
...as long as it is free...
noone cares who wrote it
But Microsoft will never produce Software under the Terms of the GPL so forget it.

Why is Netscape going to be version 6.0, but Mozilla is 1.0? Shouldn't Netscape start from 1.0 also?
I would like to see the first laptop with
smp enabeled. Who cares about battery lifetime...
I want a dual Athlon notebook!
that would be fun;)

Let the Computer decide what to do...
