    Corporatist/oligarchy government is big business with public resources to exploit, squander, and destroy. Like rich kids with toy soldiers ... it is all for their grand, bland, and fleeting glory.

    Depression when it hits is bad for US never them. Toy-soldiers, Suzie-homemaker ... are just things to play with in a clueless life that has no sense of reality.

    Have you ever noticed how detached Cheney/Bush or Kennedy/Johnson/Nixon look/act when answering questions about our dead and wounded Warriors? To fools such as they and other PTB members we are just toy-Soldiers for play and fun. Look at the education system, health care, economic, telecommunications ... decline for the last 40+ years. Politicians accept corporatists and plutocrats funds and play the almost have some (wealth) folks against the have nothing (need help) folks ... always to the benefit of the PTB members. Fewer more wealth individuals every year and corporate/government and religion (catholic/mormon child molesting) accountability is close to nonexistent for US.

    I have observed for over a decade now that index finger pointing is passee at Fortune 50+... pecker-order old-boy corporate welfare companies and the USA government congress, DoD ... use of the middle finger for FU is the management rage for CYA. I suspect the Whitehouse, congress members, some mayors/governors, and many CEOs, CIOs, CFOs ... have a staff of blame-stormers. Blame-stormers are used when the best-framed-truth is (determined by the lawyers on staff) not believable to a jury, idiots and/or dogmatist (Cheney & Rove ... CIA leak) find the best fall-dummy for the boss (point them out with the FUFinger). Things are becoming more FU, because nothing holds these criminals accountable, and negligence is defined as being caused by unpredictable events which does nothing more then extends the victimization of the public. Cheney/Bush/... prove that all good patriotic lawful citizens should fear politicians/corporatist/... as far more dangerous to US than terrorist.

    I was told that when POTUS Bush/Cheney, Dummy Rummy the War Don ... took the oath of office to protect and defend "The USA Constitution" against all enemies foreign and domestic they intentionally crossed their fingers, eyes, or legs ... never intending to serve the public, but to service the public like good shepherds for money and personal gain. I never saw the pictures; So, I cannot be sure....

    PBS news has even been turned to the will of the dark-side by Bush-Vader and Sith-Lord Cheney. Are all our Jedi Masters dead or seduced by a Monicabj hope of everlasting fame? Tune in after the next exciting election when we will all see more of the same or a spectacular USA finally for democracy and capitalism. I suspect it will be a real tear-jerking, neck-clinching, and nail biting disappointment to USAll.

    For the past decade the /. community has kept me more informed about technology than any other source. /. is not always first with some topics, but eventually almost all intelligent technology content leads to /..

    I have noticed government/military/CoOpGhost and politicians/corporatist/religious trolls on /. all trying to become more informed or attempting to suppress the truth with plausibly_logical_spin-reasoning (they always fail). The truth always gains from their adamant refrain being discovered as far less than accurate.

    The important side for me (I have an odd job), each year, I balance and document my pay to what I directly save this company by supporting or rejecting technology application and acquisition. If I cannot after my annual review clearly show I have saved the company $1M, I feel guilty about my pay (less than $100K). My best year yet was almost $4M, my worst was about $500K (last year), this year 2008 will be worse, but for our next FY2009 it is already at $5M. About a quarter of all that money is due to some discussion on /.

    I had no direct input to one acquisition decision, but it is a well known example of clueless CIO staff/management. In 2006/05, I was told by a senior CIO staffer that by 2006/08 M$-Vista would be installed on all desktop computers. My immediate reply to him, thanks to the /. community comments, was that M$-Vista would not even be on any company computers in 2007/08.

    So %~P, I promoted myself this past August from the Technology Information Adviser (TIA) to the illustrious sounding position of the Technology Innovation Adviser ..., next time I will pick a more enigmatic job title for my BizCard ... maybe Technology Implicit Adviser ...; anyway it is important to keep it consistent with TIA for the signature block (my insanity %~P).

    Oh, I forgot to mention ... yes there is an intermittent typo problem I have noticed that frequently when striking S immediately after an M or U that it results in a $, but (it is so cute) I just don't want to replace my old clunker kb.

    Another odd kb problem is that frequently when I enter a U right after the E ... that a "euro-symbol" magically appears followed by the letter "U". I know, maybe it is a virus, I don't think it is magic, but maybe it is reality ... as in "Reality is self-induced hallucination."
