It crashes on Slackware 8.0 too... since it was compiled for RH 6.2, and all the modern distros have much newer system libraries, it's not much of a surprise. Hopefully they will find the time to provide some binaries based on glibc 2.2 and the 4.1 X libs, at least if they want some good publicity... some don't have time, some don't dare, some won't bother to compile themselves.
... is the link at the bottom of the page that says "Click for permission to reprint". Apparently, it includes permission to link to the article as well. Has anybody on/. checked that text before linking?
I thought the days when downloads were paid per megabyte were long gone... it seems i'm wrong.
Also, this redistribution of payments won't do anything good for the artists. RIAA will get fatter and that's all.
They are upset that Slackware is at version 7.1:)
You should really read Volkerding's reason for bumping the version number from 4 to 7... it is outrageously funny.
