    Then choose a better FTP server - it's not OpenBSD's fault you installed pr00tme-ftpd.

    I can also publish a root password for my servers on digg. Does that mean it's OpenBSD's fault for that 'exploit' as well?

    The purpose of the default install is a configuration that has been audtied by _the_ most anal development team on the planet. This is nothing but a good thing, and if people have a problem with Theo's attitude, feel free to fork the codebase.

    On my list of the 10 best OSS projects, OpenBSD is in the top 5.

    How is this different from any of the sites I've been to where a new IE window pops-up in the background with no menu-bar or buttons that takes up the entire screen? This is not a Java issue, this is an OS windowing issue.

    Seriously though, we need more bandwidth. The overall addressing scheme is fine: IPv6 works just great. BGP you say? That's fine too, so long as you configure it properly. The Internet is great and will continue to grow. Good luck overhauling the whole thing - just sit back and enjoy the evolution.

    Intelligent people use SQLite (or Berkeley DB) for apps that don't require a heavyweight DBMS.

    Databases are even being used in many situations that would be better addressed using flat files. That kind of mainframe/JCL talk is not welcome here...

    ubiquitous, even on mobile[linux] devices. As a Java Application Architect I care very little about what my infrastructure is, so long as it's not WebSphere. Mobile linux and Netbeans work _very_ nicely together. I can even whisper sweet nothings to Active Directory with my LDAP powers.

    Give me the Toaster-based BSD and a jre higher than 1.4.2 and get out of my way!
