Are we talking about the same Palm software? Because it seems that the Palm software you are talking about is a fictional myth. Because I have had a Palm and I had to ditch it because of lack of support, lack of _GOOD_ software, lack of a _GOOD_ security model. I got an IPaq and it works great, I couldn't be happier and it hasn't crashed yet, and I have had it for 8 months. By the way my Palm crashed about every 6 hours on the hour, this was with out running any kind of extra software that Palm doesn't already install on it.

So unless you have this new Palm that blows everything else out of the water I would have to say tha tyou are probably fibbing.

What many of you are forgetting is that inorder for a language to be used in mission critical applications in the U.S. Goverment it needs to go through a Standards Board and be ISO certified. This is a key requirement along with many others when defense contracters are taking a bid. I am not saying that they will ever use C# for mission critical applications, but C# is now closer than Java is.

  8. More and More People on Debunking Linux-Windows Market Share Myths · · Score: 1

More and more people are getting computers every day, and even though developers aren't working on the software people are going to move to Windows. Because no matter how much I like Linux I would never give it to my grandparents because the User Interface and the ease of use just isn't there. Because no matter how much is automated you still have to use the command line for certain things. I think if Linux is to ever catch on the developers need to take a hard look at the processes the end user actually have to go through in order to use the software. I live by the statement "Powerfull but Simple". Which mean give the users a simple interface upfront to customize the software and let the power users dig into the menu system and turn on and off the controls that they want.

I have to say one thing about the developer issue. With more and more of the developers moving twords Linux doesn't this just leave a strangle hold for Microsoft to continue to flood the market with thier software. Because maybe all the developers are moving over to Linux but I garontee the Lay Person isn't. Microsoft still holds about 90% of the desktop users and that hasn't changed much since the introduction of Linux to the mass market in 1998.

    Just my 2 cents.

Yeah tell me about it. Not only does he imply that it only runs on XP, which it doesn't it also runs on win2k. In addition to that he says the XML strips out all the formatting which it doesn't do that either. He also implies that everybody has to be on XP which is not true all this stuff will run on XP or win2k and the server software will run on win2k server or win2k3 server.

Also what the hell is "XP XML"? This guy has to be the worst informed person on the face of the earth. He is the kind of person that gives OSS advocates a bad name. You can tell he was just talking from his ass and trying to sound smart about a topic he had no clue about.

I don't know if any of you cought on to that but it takes all credibility away from this guy in my eyes when he doesn't even understand the basics of the technology he is bitching about.

Based on your comments, we see that we were not sufficiently clear in conveying the intent of this section of the license. We apologize for the miscommunication in the license and hope the below changes will better represent our intent. The new section becomes:
