  1. Fish Plant workers are paid well on Biometrics in the Workplace · · Score: 0

Leave it to Michael to be a Douche.

Fish plant workers in Delta and Richmond BC have some of the best paid union jobs in the province. But thats because you smell like dead fish at the end of the day. My mother worked for a few years at one of the fish processing plants, she only stayed because it paid very well.

Oh, and slashdot is the home of cutting-edge, acurate journalism.
  3. Why not use the effort to audit code? on Should Open Source Software Expire? · · Score: 0

Quit thinking like Microsoft, and just spend that effort elsewhere, like eliminating potential threats, temp race conditions etc?

Honestly, there are times when you can't upgrade a machine. Sometimes another application would rely on an older version of sometime.

I see where the idea is comming from, its just the wrong way to do it.

  4. Only to stop end users on NSync Copy Protected CD · · Score: 0

Well This is probably just an attempt to keep young girls from coping the CD. Have you seen some of the HP end user style machines? They make it so any idoit can burn a CD. If you really wanted to burn it, I do not know why! I'm sure you could find a way to crack it.

  5. Re:Outlook killer? How about Exchange killer? on Aethera Beta 1 Released · · Score: 1

There is Novell Groupwise. Perhaps we will see a linux client. Novell already has support for NDS under linux and single sign on (which is great).

But I agree with the point, that in order for this kind of app to take off you have to match the features of Exchange and Groupwise, and add more stability.

Groupwise is great for stability, the client is what needs the most work. (ie; not wrapping lines).

Perhaps its time for a new groupware server, with hooks that these apps can plug into to have a shared calendar todo lists etc.

    Just my 2c

  7. If you have ever used a novell product... on Is Novell Doomed? · · Score: 1

    - Well If you have ever used a Novell product you will notice that they are very robust. It is also worth noting that NDS Corporate Directory and eDirectory now run on linux, as does NIMS (novell internet messaging server).
    - NDS Provides a common interface to manage any novell service.
    - Active directory is a joke compared to NDS, and another way for M$ to try and squeeze novell out of the enterprise

I would give novell some time before you pass judgement, they don't need to justify their existence with press releases touting linux like the rest.

Anybody would be better than cool leo! I personally liked the rumor that they were thinking of Rick Shrouder (From NYPD Blue). He looks a lot like anakin and is big enough to turn into vader. If leo is in EP2 I will make an effort not to see it.
