And more than once I've found that dropping a zip disk 2 feet can totally wipe it out. As I said, perhaps I'm just unlucky, or unwittingly brutal on my iomega products...
Amazon makes not a dime on 'Advertising', in it's most traditional sense. They only push stuff on the site that they themselves sell (at below profit cost).
They also have small 'ads' to companies they are partnered with (own?) like evineyard, drugstore.com..etc.
This company operates 100% via pretend money. It's astounding.

- PS2 was a big disappointment everywhere in the world... it is not likely to pose a large threat or gain much more ground.
No More of a disappointment than every other over-hyped console at launch. SNES and N64 suffered similiar fates initially.
Do you REALLY believe that that a system that has sold 10 Million units in about a year is in danger of going away? DC sold 7 million worldwide in it's entire lifespan, and a chunk of that came just recently, when the price was cut dramatically.
Besides all of that, it all comes down to games. PS2 has no shortage of those:

- MS have well over 100 developers developing games for X-Box, theres gonna be a flood of games (like the PS1) and most likely they'll all be of an unprecedented quality as far as console systems go.

- Nintendo have somewhere in the vicinity of 20 developers for GameCube, which pales in comparison to Microsoft's hundereds.

What happens with addicts? They start upping their dosage - the porn needs to be nastier, they're getting bored...before you know it people are looking at some sick shit. There may be something to the idea that pornography addicts start to become 'steered' by their addictions into evil ways.

THANK YOU. Jesus the leetism astounds. ASP isn't a 'language'. You can use just about any scripting language you want within it. Many folks use PERL, I use javascript. I've found it to be pretty powerful, not to mention fast as hell.
After seeing about a billion commercials, drinking a hundred pepsis with jar jar on the cup, billboards, news reports, walls of unsold toys at every retailer - I couldn't bring myself to go see it. To this day, I haven't seen it.

Consoles NEVER live up to their own hype. It simply isn't possible. SELDOM does a console launch with more than 3 stellar titles..Depending on who you ask, the PS2 launched with two of the best console games EVER - Madden2000 and SSX (which by the way DOES have stellar graphics which outdo the DreamCast by a mile) - plus plenty of sleeper hits such as Sky Oddessy, Smugglers Run(whoever said this had mediocre PS1 graphics was on crack), Midnight Club, TTT, Armoured Core2, DOA2:HardCore, Summoner, Fifa..and the list goes on. Sure, none of these are anything like having a freakin holodeck in your room but its. just. a. game. console. The graphics are tight (and WILL get tighter - check out GT3, Zone OF Enders, Bouncer early next year!) the games are great, I just don't understand what everyone was expecting...
And how can so many of you advise us to avoid touting vaporware like MGS2, then turn around and pump up the non-existent XBOX so heavily?
I'm not as overzealous as this looks.:)
Why do people keep saying their PS2 is just 'sitting here collecting dust'? Using the machine would be likely to attract MORE dust, as the machine is more likely to be turned on. Do your other consoles dust themselves for you as reward for your attention?
