Well, the FCC doesn't care. All that stuff is properly accepting the EM radiation as it should. But if I were walking by and operating my radio, I'd probably be able to pinpoint which room in your house was your computer room - from the outside.
Actually, have you noticed how many piles of machines, monitors, and 100BaseT cables there are lying around server closets? That's EM radiation hell. Linux runs much better in a server closet.
While stray EM radiation seems to crash my Windows machine often, my Linux machine seems to put up with EM radiation. I can't say I've ever noticed a benefit of EM radiation on Linux....
So, what is the right way to set the X resources to get the "flat" CDE look as opposed to the "3D" normal Motif look? Can you give me an Xresources file?
Wow, thanks. I have to use several Motif apps in places where CDE is not available, and I like the CDE/Motif look better than standard Motif. Would you happen to know what resources those are?
Aha, but Socalism requires some view of the common good of humanity (or at least your country), which is curiously absent from modern political discussion (unlike it was in our country's early days, up to about 1950.) What a way to live.
I saw some screenshots on your site that show the KDE window manager, but nedit's look is that of CDE. How did you convice Motif to look like it does on a CDE environment without CDE being present?
Lol! You probably think that since the Green movement in Europe is very tied to Socalism. You ought to go back and review the difference between Communism and Socalism (one is a specific but not representative example of the other.)
Actually, there's really two sides to the same party, and it's not delineated on Liberal/Conservative sides like you think. We really have a one party system. Anyway, the reason Nader can hurt Gore is if 10% of the voters who were going to vote Gore instead vote Nader, then you end up with Bush X%, Gore Y-10%, Nader 10%. Call X% 48% and Y% 52%, and you can see the problem - Bush now leads 48%-42%, a 6% lead over Gore.
Hmm, I took the libertarian site "what party are you" questionaire, and it seems that I'm an Authoritarian on the Socalist side (according to it), but I also agree that we should eliminate Crypto regs. What other parties are also against Crypto regs?
Hrmn... depression? Not just that. Without a national mission, I think that the entire country is going to go to hell in a handbasket in the next couple of decades... say goodbye to Uncle Sam!
Yes, but life of all sorts is counted in that, and life is a self-fufilling prophecy (it naturally starts to exist given enough time.) Therefore, it's pretty certain that over enough time, life would again exist on earth.
The Framers failed to envision a future in which the population is dulled into submission by the Telletubies and Monday Night Football. Are we going to revolt? Only if they pre-empt our TV show.
Can I politely say that this is a stupid question that belongs in the presidental farces...errr..debates rather than on Slashdot? (Oops, that wasn't polite.)
For gosh sakes please make the candidates think! They're sleeping right now (except for GWB, but he's using up his brain trying to figure out how to pronounce his name). This question does nothing.
Actually, there's a much stronger problem going on: we have no purpose as a country. (Read my question, #565 for what I'm talking about.) And that's a very dangerous thing, because what you describe is an effect of politics with no purpose. When the country has a purpose, we have no problem voting money for things that matter: WWII, the Cold War, the Depression New Deal, etc., but when we have no money we vote it for ourselves. I think that your (important, nonetheless) issue is a side effect (symptom?) of this bigger problem for the country.
Good point. I'm pretty sure number 565 (mine) wouldn't have gotten to +5 without my asking others for support. I saw a lot of very silly questions, and a lot of "traditional" questions - the things that should be asked on places like MSNBC and CNBC, but not on Slashdot. C'mon, this is Slashdot. Please, guys, think. Use your brains, and ask the candidates the tough questions! Make them think.
Just out of curiosity, why isn't there a user# 42512?

At home, I use NetPositive.

But we tend to forget that the atom-blaster points both ways.
Intel/Rambus strategy: Oh, sure, you can keep using your SDRAM, but then you take a major performance hit.
They both bribe you to give them more money.

They're doing more than that... they're working with Apple to rewrite the OS!
Now, now, you know deep in your heart they're all just holes in the skydome to let light in...
Forgive me for being cynical.

Lol! I know you meant geographic, but that's an interesting thought. Genetic voting, hmm...
Let's see if any of the candidates are savvy enough to catch that bit.
