Obama's debt is roughly equal to all other President's combined?
Since when in 11 roughly equal to 6?
Or how about Mr. Reagan who's debt was TWICE all of his predecessor's combined?
And then there is the inconvenient fact that Mr. Bush's tax cut, two wars, and devastation of the econimy is the primary reason the debt under Obama has ballooned so much.
Generally in the US people have obeyed the law. If it comes to the point where a President successfully refuses I imagine this would be considered a coup d'etat. If it devolves to an ongoing dispute it quite likely it would become a civil war.
The 900 lb gorilla in the room is the shutdown of nuclear generation. This is causing a much faster increase in coal consumption and construction of more coal burning plants in Europe.
A lot of what is being mined and burned is nasty brown stuff too.
The idea is that it's going to be replaced by renewables. Someday maybe, but I bet not in my lifetime. The upshot is that despite all this solar etc. the EU is spewing more CO2 than ever.
The Economist has a great article about it. They call it the 'Golden Age of Coal'.
Dog, yes. Generally border collies are used around here. These things are far smarter, last longer than any drone, and are self-replicating. The parents will even train the pups.

Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform Act of 2000 (âoeCAFRAâ). This requires the government to procure an ex parte warrant from a U.S. District Court upon probable cause before seizing property. Within 60 days after the government seizes property, it must send written notice of the seizure to parties interested in the property (i.e., the owner). The interested parties then have 35 days to file a claim for the property. If a timely claim is filed, government has 90 days to either indict the claimant or bring a lawsuit in federal court seeking a judgment of civil forfeiture of the property. If the government does neither, it must return the seized property forthwith.
I have a two stage condensing gas furnace. At stage 1 it spec'ed is 99.5% efficient. At stage 2 it is 98% efficient. When checked during yearly service it meets or exceeds these specs.
I don't know why a NG fuel cell/heating system couldn't be built to similar specs (for winter operation anyway).
But that's not the whole picture. The fact is they all suck, it's a matter of degree only. The quality of coverage is terrible, and has been driven that way by Fox' tabloid approach.
1. Given 6 months severance + 3 months extension to qualify for heath insurance on retirement. This was after 20 years. I was at a pretty senior level.
2. Laid off without notice.
3. Laid off without notice and it took several months to receive last pay check. They did eventually also pay for unused vacation.
The current employer has had some layoffs since I joined them and has given two weeks notice in each case. It is likely I will retire from this company in the next couple of years. I intend to do so in a gentlemanly way.
Except for #2 which I am not surprised at because the proprietor was a flamer I don't have any real complaints.
The German economy is a ticking time bomb due to sub replacement birth rates and a unaccommodating immigration policy coupled with negative attitudes towards Muslim immigrants.
It's also well-known that Germany's long term care system is unsustainable due to the demographic problem.
A recent census shocked German politicians when it showed a population 1.5 millions smaller than expected.
No nation on Earth has a successful private health insurance program. All attempts at what you are suggesting have led to high costs and/or massive numbers of uninsured.
Australians, like Americans have a natural right to unfettered free speech. The only question is whether or not they will constitute governments to protect that right.

Enforcement of Supreme Court decisions has been an issue. In the past compliance has sometimes been slow or under protest.

The solution is to wise up and do research on advanced nuclear designs.
The crappy old designs we have now have a decent record, and we haven't put any money at all into improved designs.
Get some decent Thorium based tech going.
In parts of the US background exposure is 1700 mrem or 17 mSv per year. So the 5 year background exposure is 85 mSv.
In the US the normal power plant exposure limit is 50 mSv per year, and under emergency conditions it can be raised to 250 mSv per year.
According to the news report 100 mSv/hr was right at the surface of the puddle.
So don't go there.
Not everyone is going to roll over like PJ did.

Some of the stuff Snowden released contains British secrets.
Not to mention Greenpeace going around telling people in developing countries that drinking water chlorination is bad.

You also need a vigilant citizenry.

Yeah, the H in HP. And it was before Steve worked for anyone.
No, we are not God. Even with unlimited funds he was in a long path towards being a drooling lump of flesh.
Um no.
The worst shill is MSNBC, by a lot. However Fox, CNN, etc really are about equal in their bias levels.

Be careful about those PACT plans. Stock market fluctuations and high tuition rate increases has put Alabama's in doubt.

Yes, everything at that level or below should have life support withdrawn.
So if the apology carries no weight, the judge should disregard it and impose the maximum sentence.
Right?
That's the logical conclusion from your statement anyway.

That's just wrong.
I did a Google news listing and the first item is USA Today reporting 'more than 100 dead'.
In the same group of stories NBC News and the Boston Herald are reporting 149 dead.

It is just not a tenable economic model.
So what is the opposition party alternative? Repeal.
That will limit the out of pocket costs when? Never.
Plus it will eliminate the various positive effects that the ACA is already having.
Basically the people that are screwing up here are the beneficiaries of the higher out of pocket costs, our Medical Insurance Overlords.
