Mercedes already has a pothole detector in one of it's high end models. Basically it's a camera tied into an active suspension that cushions the impact of driving over a pothole.
I suppose it could be considered a solved problem.
Electric company - thug Water company - thug Gas company - ok Cable company - thug Wireless company - thug Phone company - thug (stopped using 8 years ago because they wouldn't repair their lines) Trash company - ok
So there are 7 private companies I deal with for important services. FIVE of them are monopolistic thugs that do things like sending bills without reading the meters and fail to keep their infrastructure in reasonable repair (try having to boil water for two weeks because the water company didn't repair their treatment facility after a storm damaged it years ago and see what your opinion on this is).
These state sanctioned monopolies are the children of Satan. Or maybe Eris. They get into the regulators knickers and generally then do anything they please.
Comcast is now bidding to own the interwebs. Tell whoever you can that this would be a disaster for America.
The problem with your analysis is that the laissez-faire folks would see points all of your stipulations as Marxist.
1. In unfettered capitalism monopolies are fine. While you don't want regulated markets. construction of monopolies through price manipulation etc. is fine. This is how we ended up with stuff like Standard Oil. Look what happened with the breakup of AT&T - gradually the companies formed by the split re-merged. Only regulation has prevented formation of a monopoly.
2, 3 and 4 are obviously restriction on free commerce and therefore Marxist.
Take a closer look at that table. The US vehicles in 7-8 place have one and only one failure. The low ranking is because they are relatively new and have participated in a small number of missions.
In the 2nd table, showing retired vehicles the US has 3 of the top 4 spots.
Kraft is a large company, but it has DOZENS of equal sized or larger competitors in the markets it serves. For example in the beverages segment Snapple is bigger than they are. In cheese Mondelez is three times bigger. And so on.
Unilever is hardly a food company at all. It sells 10 times more personal care products (soap etc) than it does food.
Don't confuse diversification with market share. Two very different things.
Chile is often held up as being one of the more libertarian governments. As such it seems logical that it would often appear to be a federation of businesses.
The idea that one or two corporations will own the food supply is an insane paranoic delusion. Already many of the key traits used in GMO foods are off-patent and in the public domain.
Round-up ready soybeans, the most successful GMO trait comes off patent in 2015.
The PPACA has pretty much eliminated the issue of not being able to pay for medical care in the US, at least in the 27 states that have expanded medicaid.
Don't be daft. You are paying for your medical care in your tax bill and in all the other goods and services you buy that have taxes embedded in their prices.
There is no free lunch (2nd law of thermodynamics).
Evangelicals are famous for sending out missionaries to try to convert other people to their religion, and supporting military adventures of governments they elect.
Any hypothesis that evangelicals are peaceful has to explain away their unswerving support of Israel.
What makes you so arrogant to think that you can sort out thousands of years of hatred that is built into the culture by bombing people and trying to impose a foreign style of government?
Sorry, but this is something that these people are going to have to sort out themselves.
Nobody has EVER solved this sort of issue long term from outside.

Mafia owned companies are some of the best run and most customer friendly. They are in it for the long haul, not to just make a quick buck.
Any place served by American Water.
Randian Paradise Haw Haw.
That's complete horseshit (along with this article). It's like saying math is a subset of CS because nearly all maths will be calculated by CS.
Stats is orthogonal to CS. You don't need one to do the other.
Having both though can give you a skill set that's quite useful.
For me it goes like this:
Electric company - thug
Water company - thug
Gas company - ok
Cable company - thug
Wireless company - thug
Phone company - thug (stopped using 8 years ago because they wouldn't repair their lines)
Trash company - ok

If you read the article there is a statement that the methane is converted to CO2 before it reaches the surface. It is a fuel source after all.
The thing is, where else is this going on? Like those mysterious holes in Russia?
I visited these folks when they had an open house a few years ago.
It isn't too often you can visit a place that's working on fusion reactors.
I'm already getting profiled ads based on my Amazon shopping.
Annoying as fuck. Looking for more ad blocking extensions.

Nah. It's due to the ongoing shrinking of the Euro vs other currencies. That 10 million euro in fuel just didn't go far enough.
So if you want to be poor vote Republican!
Yes but they are still called Eneloop.
The rotting out of Verizon's wires is much more likely to push people to non-Verizon services given how little of the US FIOS covers.
For me all it did was cause me to drop Verizon completely and switch to T Mobile.

All the medical service providers I use now require I show photo ID which they then scan.
This theft has no particular utility when it comes to stealing medical services.
How does this have anything to do with Obama? Or are you a bot or human acting as a proxy for a bot?

One of the things that you are missing is that Germany's electricity use is actually declining because of the crappy economy and current demographics.
So flat coal consumption is misleading - this would imply coal is growing as a percentage of energy mix given the economic situation.
We just finished with two useless wars. That tends to create a lot of leftover stuff.
