First of all I think your just trying to bash people here. If you look at computers now a days they have something called a ethernet card(for the most part they do) and some times people get together in large groups and hook up these cards too a server computer and have large say 15-50 people playing in one room at a time. This is called a LAN Party.
It allows for alot of people to play against eachother in a deathmatch and be in the same room. With this type of game play you can have the best graphix there are and not have to worry about the guy next to you throwing the new controller that you just bought at the wall and busting your new game console. No now you have to worry about the guy next to you put a porn back ground on you background at 3 in the morning while your taking a shit down the hall and then saying it was there when I left by some majic I hate them basterds
Any ways I prefer console systems but I just wanted to say that you can have people around you when your playing on a pc. Me and my friend have a small 2 person one set up at his home that we play on all the time. Sure counter strike gets borring with just 2 people but thats what emulation and mario cart is for.
first of all he got the job by actually setting up the email servers and he is not going to take it down just because he feals like pissing poeple off because he is the one who is responsible to repare it and fix any securaty holes that there are on the server.
anouther guy said that he couldn't be trusted because he had access to other teachers files. I dunno if he can access the teachers files I think they have a personal lock on them that they use so none of the other teachers doesn't go looking at papers and stuff or so if a student does get access to a teachers acount they can't go into everything I think the same thing goes for him but he would still have access to other students files but its easy to see if he copied some other students work teachers have been doing this for some time now he would lose his privilages if he did that so I don't think it would be something he would do if he could advoide it.
I know there is some troubles with letting just any one do that(now that you pointed out the whole access to teachers files) so I think it would be nice to have a small class say or after school club where you could set up a group of 486's and just practice networking and testing security holes in a safe enviroment.
I have a friend who is a bit more gifted at computers than me. I say that because he could have a computer job right now in high school and i will still need a few years of secondary schooling to be any good.
Any ways hes been getting in trouble at school for hacking all the time for years and finaly they just found a way to get rid of the problem. They gave him admin access and told him to work with the email servers. So far I don't think they have had any problems with him screwing around so I think this would fix most of the honest cases of people who are just curiouse about computers. This is because they now have a way to look at the system in a positive way and other schools could do the same and also save money.(there should always be a pro there though)

This is just a question but what would all the benifits would there be from a new C++ language I know that there should be lots but I don't know what they all are so would people please enliten me?
There are a few problems with just getting ten coppies at a discount price....
First you have to run a windows box and not every one does this though it seems to be smarter than running just linux right now because alot of cool things still only come out for windows but some people don't have the room to boot both or have to computers good enough for each job they want to do.
Also if your going to be buying 10 games its gonna be hard to find 10 games that your gonna want so you'll probably never play some of the games that you get. You might just be wasting some money just to save money get the picture. I don't know many people who will go out and buy 10 games at once. Because by then there too old(you would have to wait till alot of games you wanted come out making the original one you wanted old) and you can get them on Loki any ways eh:)

I know how you feal one of my friend was saying that the PIV was the way to go then I explained it to him why it wasn't and he was like oh I see. Well I think the x box won't loose ground as long is has the games to back it up look at the original psx system it came out just before the N64. The N64 was way better grafix wise and still was loosing out because it had no games because it was hard to develop for at the time
Note: The new Ncube has been focased toward being developmently friendly and so has the xbox but the PS2 didn't follow suite

Your right that it won't work on smaller/older computers. I had a 486 and had slackware installed on it for a while then red hat and as time progressed I couldn't put newer OS's on it because they were too big to fit even the operating system on them.. I finaly went and got a 1gig for it and everything I wanted on it fit really nice and moved good but I notice more and more that OS's are getting biger leaving out the old computers.
On a side note most people don't use old computers any more becasue there worth nothing. i could get a few 486 for free just about now from companies throwing them out. Plus these computers arn't usualy fast enough to run what you want on them any ways.

The video cards ram in the PS2 was too low so they can't have that good of frame rates on it now if the X-Box and the NCube do something we will see developers going to them(like Sega who just got cloberd by sony and had some sweet games like NFL2k1 and shemu and DOA2 and resident evil) then Sony will get its clock cleaned from a 2 front war just like the germans in WWI

square soft is a big player and have a good following with RPG's like final fantasy but the big factor is where sega decideds to take its devolopment. Thats because they have better RPG's like shemue that make final fantasy looked kinda old because its been around for so long.. I love final fantasy don't get me wrong, but if nintendo gets some of the development from sony that it had before because sony is now haveing problems with development that nintendo does.(psx games not working as good as they do for dreamcast http://www.dcemulation.com/dcemu-bleemcast.htm) And nintendo was into making up for the lose of developers by making games like pokemon snap( my cousin had it and I finished it in a day cause I was bored and that was the only game I had at the time) but it also had games like Zelda that arn't like the RGP's such as final fantasy. For the most part besides the Final Fantasy tital what does PS2 got... Nothing it seems except games that are on other cosoles like the dream casts DOA2 and UT, and UT is still better on computer because of more maps and better grafix cards.
The Nintendo has a chance to take the market from sony and if Nintendo doesn't do it Microsoft probably will because they didn't rip off the buyers buy putting in a dvd player and not putting in extra controllers like 64, dreamcast, Microsft did. They are for expantion you are right but not for an external modem. Because as far as all my friends who have bought one say is that there is a slot for a modem that you have to buy after unlike dreamcast.
The other thing is that there are other ways of getting that much storage without using dvd's and having to spend 200 more dollers on the systems creation. they basicly used it as a sales gimic. The dreamcast used GD-Roms that hold about 1.2gig er something like that and are extreamly hard for the average person to rip. you have to basicly hook your computer up to your dreamcast via usb.

so if napster was to you know change the system to have a pay and pay to use the companies copywrites by say charging the users and paying the companies. would you still think napster was going to die. Because if they payed the artists to have the service they are no longer infringing on copyrights.
They are for expantion you are right but not for an external modem. Because as far as all my friends who have bought one say is that there is a slot for a modem that you have to buy after unlike dreamcast.

The other thing is that there are other ways of getting that much storage without using dvd's and having to spend 200 more dollers on the systems creation. they basicly used it as a sales gimic. The dreamcast used GD-Roms that hold about 1.2gig er something like that and are extreamly hard for the average person to rip. you have to basicly hook your computer up to your dreamcast via usb.

I think sony made a big mistake in making the PS2 the way they did. I mean they only release a small portion of the demand I wonder if that is in this new book cause that really pisses me off. A while ago I read that they couldn't afford to put 2 more controller ports but the new PS2 has 2 usb ports and a dvd??? what does dvd movie playing have to do with a video game conceal they should have sold it as an entertainment unit instead. It would have at least made me a little more happy. I also read in enough place that the video card doesn't have allot of ram. I dunno if that one is true because I had never heard of the source before some /. post. But tht would really suck on the

Hope this isn't too much flame bait. I think that PS2 is good but it shouldn't have been marketed as a video conceal system
okay heres the thing I read on scour.com that they are going to be up and running again and for all of you that know about it its a p2p like napster except that it serves movies and pictures. Now it has been deamed leagal and there working out the fine print as it seems it will stay free too! now how about that. So why is napster getting so cut and beat up over this if other p2p wether runny though a main machein or off of every one.

I'll tell you this. It reminds me of a story with tiny robots that are maybe half the size of those were they went crazy and decided to crawl in some guys mouth and ruined him from the inside out. witch would be posible if they were smaller.
Now this makes me think of some kinda probing that some sick doctor would use to check and see whats wrong with you if they ever get that camera thing to work on it. Now wouldn't that be kinda weird
