actually if you saw anything it was probably a partial eclipse where the moon is not quite covering the sun. These are alot more commen and are actually called "Annular Eclipses" these are not good for your eyes at any time. and occure when the moon is at Apogee(farthest distance from the Earth in its orbit) Its umbra shawdow winn not reach earth.

actually you can stare at a Total eclpise without having to worry about your eyes burning out at all. Its when you view a Partial Eclipse that you will burn your eyes. When the eclpise you can start to view it without protective eye wear. You can even look at it with a telescope. But beware it will only last a few minutes some times even less and then you had better put on your eye protection again.
When you are viewing a total eclipse what you see for light is actually the Corona of the sun.
At Start and end of totality, light from solar surface passes through Crevices at the edge of the moon, producing Bailey's Beads(Points of light at the edge of the moon) or a diamond ring effect(One bright spot set upon the silvery corona)

Yeah I was pretty pissed off about my DSL hookup. The one guy came over and basicly pluged in the DSL modem and turned it on. This guy said that he would't even touch the computer and that some other guy was going to be over. Though when he told me this he gave a little hint that I could probably do it myself and save some time in calling the guy. So I set it up and browsed the internet for awhile and then the other guy called me. Told me he was comming over and never gave me a chance to tell him it was okay I had it running. Calls me again and says the same thing(that was a little weird). and then he shows up.
I tell him the internet is ready, he sets up my email uses my bathroom and takes off.
I was lucky he had a cd and shit all ready to install but when it was already hooked up and running he just didn't care.
The thing that pissed me off is that it took them over a month to get over here and set up the internet and then when they did get here I basicly installed it myself. If I could have done the self-install I would have had the internet a month before I had got it.
I think I would like to see you go to the top of a building in New York. Set up a target on one of the butterflies. Shoot them. Watch the rest piss them selves in fear. And when the cops come to arrest you say "I swear to god there not human".
You know what I think it would be kind of cool to watch some FPS games and other RPG games on tv. You could even call it Unreal TV. I'm sure that some Network will come up with it here in some respect in the future. It would probably be a big thing. Host tournaments to see who gets to be on the show and then have a big game of ctf or CS with some of the best players in the world(the internet allows for anyone to play).
I would go and watch that anyways.

I looked in the artical but I couldn't seem to find out where he got his mini monitors from??(besides the fact that he always seems to have one lying around incase he gets inspired) But really though did he get them from radio shack just like the tube things.
I don't know how to start this off all I want to say is that how would this not be humorous right now after the WTC what did it have to do with the WTC. If anything it made people think of a happy place where bad people are stoped by some big guy in Blue(maybe even a metaphore for the police).
When you start to think that every thing is going to hurt every ones fealing then you start to get an opressed sociaty where people can't express themselves like they want to.
The only people that I've seen so far that have really looked at the WTC and tried to look at it from more than one angle so far and be able to say it on TV is Matt Stone and Trey Parker of South Park. They have always done a good job of that if you look deep beyond kenny dying and people being pissed off at them. I wouldn't mod that show down for the world and its alot more contraversial.
First of all this is not in the united states so we don't know if they have a law that makes it illegal for isp's to watch what the usr is downloading. Second of all they arn't going to hire enough people to watch what every one is downloading off of the internet. They might watch a usr that has a high download or upload rate and give them a warning about pireting illegal stuff then cut them off. But from experiance most isp's don't watch how much you download they watch to see how much you upload because your distributing the pireted software. I know this because my cousin got a flag and a warning from @home and was told to stop uploading so much stuff. Now whos to say that they won't look at what you download too...

There is nothing new about a console companie bundeling a bunch of stuff with there console. Look at the original nintendo. They sold it with duck hunt, and mario bro. 1 with a controller and a gun. the controller is fairly basic and you would expect it but you don't need to be told to buy duck hunt or mario bros. You don't need to have that gun for duck hunt but it was bundled anyways. Snes had the same thing I remember buying the snes with F-Zero and 2 controllers(I wanted that) but you could also buy it bare if you wanted with just one controller is just gave you an option... They did the same thing with the N64 with its Donkey Kong country that was released with the console. It was just an option you could still go and buy a bare console.
The same applies to the XBox. no one said that you had to buy the bundle Microsoft is just recomending it to people as an option I'm sure you could go out and buy the bare modle but if the games are good and it is cheaper to buy the bundle I'm sure it would be a good OPTION. They didn't say you couldn't get the bare system. So this is the good marketing that nintedo used over the years the stores just have the option to do it or not. That is more fair to them and to the consumer to find a bare system if they want.

Thats almos a confesion that he wanted people to use it to trade illegal music. But on the same note that doesn't mean that it should be illegal(the music I mean).

yeah your right they are. but the there is also the case that people are using this program to do illegal activities and i would bet you that over 80% of the people have downloaded illegal materials off of the program. I think some where they even stated that they wanted to be the "napster" of south korea. No its not I'm not saying that it is, but on the same note to take drugs and traffic them is illegal and if you were involved you would be arrested. Along with stolen goods. Along with slaves. But the fact is that when you log on and let people download those mp3s that are copyrighted you are trafficing stolen goods in a sense.

But anyways lets talk. I still buy cd's from a record store if I think its worth buying I have bought alot of cds since I got my cd burner 2 years ago the latest being the beatles 1. So now I want to download those songs off of the net to listen to on my computer and that adds the the 300 or so CD's that they say are being downloaded off of the internet from this software. I look at any number that they give out to the public about how many illegal cds that have been downloaded to be false. This is because I have probably download about 10 cd's out of say 30 or so that are leagal. Now I know that other people do the same thing so that would be a big chunk of the 300 illegal cd's that are legal.
So groups like the South Korea recording industry and the RIAA are loosing money but I don't think that is as much as they are saying. They may actually beleive it and I'm pretty sure that they are still loosing money wich makes the download of music wrong.(I still do it maybe some day I'll smarten up and buy all my cds, maybe some day I'll leave the house and go to the mall...) But its my thought that the ammount of downloaded music that they say is illegal is not accurate to that number by a long shot. but thats just me.

To relay what he did. he made a program to decrypt something that only worked with the original adobe copy(from what I heard) in his own country where it is leagal. And when he came here not to destribute it but to warn talk state what was wrong with the product he got put into jail. That doesn't seem to be a DMCA problem because he wasn't violating U.S. copy write laws because his crime was commited in Russia where laws don't exist.(maybe they should maybe they shouldn't. I lean to shouldn't) Code is often refured to as a language. It isn't a language used by most people in the states but it is one. Live with it because its freedom of speech.

Okay now I could be considered a jock by the standard that I play highschool football and I have started on the team since I have started playing football along time ago.(I have also played hockey soccer and vollyball) But before that I played on computers and played alot of video games. I have some friends on a few of the teams that I play on that are mostly honor roll students and try really hard in school. So why are you dissing Jocks?? Your right in fact I stated in my original post that you were right except that you get more personal interaction but at a lan party you get just as much. Now I don't go to lots of lan parties because I have some consoles I'm just saying that you can get as much out of a computer. Besides we all know consoles are always more fun, don't diss computers because of that.
Now about that whole price thing. How many of your friends don't have computers??? and out of the ones that do how many don't have ethernet cards??? now think of it this way do you have to absolutly HAVE TO have a brand new video card to play unreal and Q3??? No you just have to have the best??? No you just have to have a card that can play the game the gfx might not be the greatest but it will be just about as good as the PS2. Now lets talk about the PS2. You have to buy a New PS2 400 dollers. Games (I dunno so I'll say) $40. if you buy like 5 games it comes out to something like 200 dollers for games. Then you add that up and its like 600 dollers so far add in the new hard drive 150 and you get 750. After that add the kewl things there gonna have for the usb ports(I hope they kick ass cause they should) and your poping out 1000 dollers.
Also the PS2 only has 2 controllers now thats for some one and there only friend but man what if you have more than one?? The gfx are good but are they as good as you thought they would be?? I don't think so and thats why I'm glad I didn't buy one off the shelf and that thats why I'll wait till the XBOX and the Game Cube are out to see witch of the 3 are the best. But I'll tell you one thing... I hate only having 2 fucking controllers.
But thats just my opinion after the whole lan tourny thing. I have nothing against PS2 sept the controllers cause the XBOX and game cube will be the same thing way expensive. The only benifit I can see is that XBOX from what I hear is suppose to have a built in hard drive(I heard one person complain about that and I don't think your going to fill up a hard drive on save games and other extracted stuff from the cd cause it could be erased and put back on when you boot the cd up again I hope anyways) Plus 4 controller ports usb (I think) and sega is suppose to put 90% of there new games into XBOX(maybe just rumors too) makes it look good to me weather or not microbitches are making it. Hey don't say palm couldn't have done that. Personaly my new mouse keeps crashing my computer and doesn't even have an electrical charge through it. Don't think these people are lying cause something simmilar happend to me. Next time I might... read the manual before going and plugging in that evil mouse. So by making the talk in the states he broke the DMCA?? that doesn't sound right to me. You could say that he was practicing his freedom of speech. You could say he was practicing freedom of the press by letting people know what was going on at Adobe like many news stations and radios and papers and confreneses(don't mind my spelling) do. If that is the reason he is being put into jail this is a major crime on the constitution don't you think?
To relay what he did. he made a program to decrypt something that only worked with the original adobe copy(from what I heard) in his own country where it is leagal. And when he came here not to destribute it but to warn talk state what was wrong with the product he got put into jail. That doesn't seem to be a DMCA problem because he wasn't violating U.S. copy write laws because his crime was commited in Russia where laws don't exist.(maybe they should maybe they shouldn't. I lean to shouldn't) Code is often refured to as a language. It isn't a language used by most people in the states but it is one. Live with it because its freedom of speech.
Sounds like you have issues if you take one person(from the sounds of it) and say that every one that is that size and playes sports is like him. As I recall I'm pretty big 240 6'0 and I never have beat up the little kid in the hall way. I some times have stoped people from kicking the crap out of him.
So explain to me why you think that a person should be labled because of there size. If I saw some one your size kicking the crap out of a 4 year old I wouldn't hold it against every one that was your size. I also don't consider some one to be a geek because they know alot about computers(cause I do). I don't think some one should be called a jock and labled because they picked on you.

Okay now I could be considered a jock by the standard that I play highschool football and I have started on the team since I have started playing football along time ago.(I have also played hockey soccer and vollyball) But before that I played on computers and played alot of video games. Now I'm not a meat head. I never was and hopefuly with some luch never will be. I have some friends on a few of the teams that I play on that are mostly honor roll students and try really hard in school. So why are you dissing Jocks?? Is it because they are differenet or because they can do something you can't?? In my books that makes you a low lever person to think that some one who plays sports is a dumb ass.

But that still doesn't fall under free speech it falls under copy write laws. As we are all aware of the melenium thing passed by Bill we know that most people have been sued fined or told to take the artical down. This happend with Killastrator and Napster. Now /. is a news forum and to actually sentance them would be a national out rage. People would cry freedom of the press and freedom of speach. so I doubt that they would get tourcherd or even sentanced for leaving it on. Your right in fact I stated in my original post that you were right except that you get more personal interaction but at a lan party you get just as much. Now I don't go to lots of lan parties because I have some consoles I'm just saying that you can get as much out of a computer. Besides we all know consoles are always more fun, don't diss computers because of that. Now about that whole price thing. How many of your friends don't have computers??? and out of the ones that do how many don't have ethernet cards??? now think of it this way do you have to absolutly HAVE TO have a brand new video card to play unreal and Q3??? No you just have to have the best??? No you just have to have a card that can play the game the gfx might not be the greatest but it will be just about as good as the PS2. Now lets talk about the PS2. You have to buy a New PS2 400 dollers. Games (I dunno so I'll say) $40. if you buy like 5 games it comes out to something like 200 dollers for games. Then you add that up and its like 600 dollers so far add in the new hard drive 150 and you get 750. After that add the kewl things there gonna have for the usb ports(I hope they kick ass cause they should) and your poping out 1000 dollers. Also the PS2 only has 2 controllers now thats for some one and there only friend but man what if you have more than one?? The gfx are good but are they as good as you thought they would be?? I don't think so and thats why I'm glad I didn't buy one off the shelf and that thats why I'll wait till the XBOX and the Game Cube are out to see witch of the 3 are the best. But I'll tell you one thing... I hate only having 2 fucking controllers. But thats just my opinion after the whole lan tourny thing. I have nothing against PS2 sept the controllers cause the XBOX and game cube will be the same thing way expensive. The only benifit I can see is that XBOX from what I hear is suppose to have a built in hard drive(I heard one person complain about that and I don't think your going to fill up a hard drive on save games and other extracted stuff from the cd cause it could be erased and put back on when you boot the cd up again I hope anyways) Plus 4 controller ports usb (I think) and sega is suppose to put 90% of there new games into XBOX(maybe just rumors too) makes it look good to me weather or not microbitches are making it. But it could be just hype like the ps2 I talk to my I'm out.
