as by chance/luck,i have two licenced xp e usb drives in my odds and ends bunker,handy,but been in bunker,unused,for last 3 years due to lack of funds and lethargy for a project i have/had.

well yer old lappyvhas lasted 5 years so you obviously dont need to keep up with hardware changes annualy,so how about a second hand lappy from an enterprise firm like dell or see if apple do same kind if deal,but from dell you used to be able to buy a second hand low use premium lappy from them,and buy a warrenty from them for up to five years,it is/was mostly for business but they would deal with public in the uk at least,i got a very good latitude,you could'nt tell it had been used and even with the 5 year warrenty it still came outvcheaper than that years current top latitude and a 3 year warrenty,i'd suggest you see if applevrun similar plan.

on astronomy sites as good for connecting to telescpes for astronomical work but they also make very good outdoors hd security cameras for a cheap price if you house them properly and spare kit to hook them to (old dell precision workstation,early pentium 4's
problem is,it does'nt tell you what the remote is sending,such as a line of code that scrambled the operation of the remote for only a couple of tv's etc from the thousands it worked ok for.
took weeks for that firm to find and fix for my remote.
they suggested i take the lens element out of a cheapo webcam and to look for the ir filter film,slip it out,lens back in,roberts your relative,you have quite a sensitive ir camera,depending on sensor type,quality etc
for a very cheapprice,i did it to a few slightly better cameras recommended on astronomy sites for hooking
most cameras these days have/need an infrared filter to actualy keep it off the sensor array.so that tends to stop it being used for usful things.
i thought we were meant to be using theta waves or somesuch as short range radar by now ?
it dont help with all the WHITE ones either.
they all want our few jobs.
eastern europeans have done far more damage to us in much shorter time,their smarter,more savvy and close to home and can easily pre plan and prepare fake ids,fake firms you name it,if its bent,they have a finger in it,cash goes out of this country very quickly,their here for three years and go home very well off.i watch them at it all day everyday round here.
