Hi, I'm running a PII-400 (soon bringing a dual 500Mhz online also) and I'd really like it if I could join in!
Could someone mail me with the details. I've already got the software, just not on the right team (or any team yet). Been running mprime (prime number searcher) also. Thanks a lot guys.
An "easy" way around this little problem is to use RF signals. As anyone knows, electronic devices such as ATMs use electronic control signals. Transmitting on the correct frequency will cause the eye-scanner to "think" that it is receiving scan pictures - actually, they will be radio signals interfering with its operation. SECOND WAY to do this is as follows.... YOU ***ALL*** SHOULD BY NOW know those new projectors which use lazers to project pictures into your eye instead of using areal screen? Well, just use one of those to project an iris scan onto the screen. 3. Hack into the back computer and add your own scan in place of someone else's (best use someone else's iris - in case you get cought...:-). 4. I will NEVER let any bank store my IRIS scan unless ***THEY*** sign a contract to say who sees it (this will include not divulging it to the US government or the police. Furthermore, I would demand to be allowed to attempt to hack in to the computer to see how secure it is. At this point I would expect to be told where to go, so you can see that I won't be having an IRIS controlled bank account anytime soon....:-)
Er, PCPLUS, an excellent magazine from the UK, which I subscribe to http://www.pcplus.co.uk runs linux sections and includes all kinds of Linux stuff on one of their 3 CDs a month - last month they ran a RedHat 5.2 CD + their usual good quality Linux info, reources, applications, etc...
What a stupid company. I used to love intel. I love my PII 400, but I'd NEVER buy from them again!!! Why can't they just learn a lesson? I now send them about 20 e-mails a week on the subject but never get any reply. Perhaps that ex-intel employee was right?:-)
Just in the process of upgrading from 2.2.6 now. Its 0:46am over here in Reading, England (near London), but what the hell? I want to be the ***most*** up to date Linux user I know:-) (my copy of RH 6.0 will arrive on Monday - the day of Release!:-)
Yeah, we know, but it needed a headline right? I mean how many times (if ever) has one of Mr. Murdoch's publications (The sun, etc...) ever had an entirely true headline?
What an absolutely brilliant Idea - I'll send 100 copies of this to Intel to p*ss them off. Want any help?

Sorry folkes, but.... We don't have this trouble (at least not as often or to the same extent) over here in England. Why? Simple, WE DON'T ***ALL*** HAVE GUNS OR AMPLE ACCESS TO THEM. If you guys over there had any sense - you would BAN GUNS. I mean, if a guy breaks into your house, is that any reason to shoot him? If someone threatens you, if they don't have a gun and you don't have a gun....... etc.
Yes I know there will always be access to guns on the "black market", but not quite the same level of access.
SET AN EXAMPLE TO YOUR YOUNGSTERS - BAN GUNS TO YOURSELVES. ONLY THEN WILL THEY REALISE THAT IT ISN'T COOL.
Er, let me just point out that this kind of thing is by no means new. In fact it has been happening for years (particularly in Japan and surrounding areas, where, I understand that the law isn't quite ***so*** tight on these things!!!). I have a friend who tells me that when she goes back home (Japan), she can buy cheap (bootlegged) VCDs of Films (Titanic - before it came out over here for example). Not good quality so I hardly anticipate Hollywood caring much. If you wanna watch a cheap film, get cable and tune in to all the channels for free - they're ***all*** there - just inside very narrow frequency ranges, get an All in Wonder pro and GATOS and have fun. (Or so I'm told, anyway - he says hastilly:-)
Well, Intel (despite the 20 e-mails I send them a week - sometimes a day:-( ) launched their PSN, which just happens to allow companies to track your on-line movements. Now they are going in to the ISP business - so won't they have even more control over the PSN? I mean, they would be able to build up a secret dabase tracking all of their customers movements - even when they stoped using Intel for their ISP. I can see something nasty in that woodshed......:-(
My name is Jonathan Masters. I am a "Grammar School Student" but I am NOT a halfwit. In addition to being the youngest Computing Student in the UK, I have also been using Linux for over 4 years and do in fact know what I am doing. How many of you can say that you have set up a complex mail filtering system for 750 students from one mailbox, a proxy server, etc.... and not be accused of knowing something:-) So basically you can all F**K off if you're going to call "School Kids" Stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah, and I'm doing the same for several Primary Schools now too!!!! + GNOME interface - Beats M$ any day!
Yet another reason to not make generalistic statements.
Oh, By the Way, I'm a Grammar School Student who uses Linux and I'm not just anyone thankyou! I just happen to be the youngest Computing Student in England - not some halfwit - Thanks.
1. If you forgot your password you could have easily requested that it be mailed to you.
2. You probably ***WORK FOR MICROSOFT*** those lovely people who can't just leave the Linux community alone. Why can't you just give up even trying to compete?
3. I don't think that "our great leader" Linus is planning to give up his position as the great kernel maintainer of an increadibly popular OS to go and work in Russia!
4. F**K microsoft!
5. Oh its not late now so I'm not going to bed... :~)
Actually, Devices exist (SUCH AS THE SOON TO BE RELEASED NOMAD FROM CREATIVE LABS - www.creativelabs.com) which use FLASH CARDS and so are much better than your crappy OLD Mini Disk!!! (They don't skip - ever!!!!).
Oh, and yes, I do know what I'm talking about, I went to Sony research here in the UK about 5 years ago to see a Mini disk demonstration and get all the techy stuff, I WAS the only person able to distinguish CD and MINI-DISK!!!!)
You mention in you message that you won't be getting a computer for your car soon, however, a device exists, made by a company called EMPEG (not very original:~)
www.empeg.com
which costs about £699. It is running LINUX:~) with a 2GB Disk drive (about 35 hours of music, I'm told!). In a device the size of a car stereo! (StrongARM Chip, Full flashly Colour LCD Display, etc....). It simply connects to your PC. Just thought you might find it interesting. NOTE: I DON'T WORK FOR THEM, I JUST READ ABOUT THEM, THAT'S ALL.

You should be using fortify for netscape (www.fortify.net). Perfectly legal. Perfectly cool. Effectively, my browser is now as good as a USA one.
