    The thing is, if I break into your WoW account and steal all your virtual goodies that you worked long and hard for and possibly paid money to acquire, how much have you lost? Will anyone investigate your loss of thousands of dollars worth of virtual goods? How many people have been investigated and/or arrested in the multi-billion ISK thefts in EVE Online?

    How will the protocol handle stolen bitcoins? It doesn't.

    How do you identify the stolen coins and remove them from circulation/flag it/return to the rightful owner? One can't.

    If not, how will a merchant/buyer/seller can successfully handle a transaction? What does the merchant care as one can't tell if a bitcoin is a "stolen" bitcoin or not?

    Why should a company that uses Linux as a server OS adopt and support the development of GPU drivers that are not useful in their business context? The only companies who have a vested interest in doing something like that are game companies, specifically Valve.

    A "bitcoin" is nothing more than a number.

    FTFY. The hash doesn't denote anything. It is simply an identifier and has no value what so ever. It doesn't even denote a balance or anything in a ledger. It is just a digital number. The blockchain is just a way to tell who "has" the number.

    No, you said something about yourself and your sister and implied that more women are like you than like your sister. I asked about all the women you know to increase the sample size. Calling it misogynistic, etc. is just you throwing names out instead of answer the question in an attempt to deflect the question. You know, like liberals screaming "Nazi!" at anyone who disagrees with them. Or, in your case, like a feminist screaming "Misogynist!"

    Assuming you mean you as FlexCoin, no, you wouldn't because you have just lost all the assets of the company and are over $600,000.00 in debt. You have no way to fund it and you will be hard pressed to find someone to lend or give you the money to fund the search.

    Assuming you mean you as a depositor, depends on how much cash you have OUTSIDE of bitcoins. If you don't have the case then you aren't going to fund anything.

    Actually, what we are seeing here is more like pre-1933 banks in the U.S., possibly even pre-1864 banks.

    Mortgage backed securities are a good example of the law not keeping up with advancements. The existing regulations didn't cover the gaps created by new financial devices such as mortgage backed securities, default credit swaps, etc.

    While you are trying to argue against regulation, you are actually arguing for BETTER regulation.

    What you see happening with bitcoins today is very much like pre-1933 banks in the U.S. and in some way like pre 1864 banking and currency.

    Most of the men I know that have dropped out of STEM did so because of problems they encountered with coworkers and managers through out their careers. They got tired of the crap, but the stuck it out for a long time. From what you are saying, women don't stick it out as long. BTW, you don't mention what the problems were. Was it because the manager wanted her to work 60+ hours per week? Was it because she was expected to be available on vacation? Was it because she was expected to be on-call? Was it because the co-workers got tired of swapping shifts, on-calls, etc?

    The same quality of work is often praised more for a male then a female

    Really? do you have any evidence to back this up? Or, is it that you considered your work to be the same quality as your male counterparts and your boss didn't?

    Your post is just you grasping at straws to justify your preconceived bias.

    Oh, so women as a whole should get paid exactly equal to men as a whole? So, we can expect women to make up exactly half of every single industry, yes? And work exactly half the total hours worked by the entire workforce? And, if not enough women want to be garbage collectors(a job that pays well considering), well, we will just have to force them to do the work, right?

    That said, women also spend far more money preparing for those dates. When you include things like makeup, hair maintenance, clothes, etc. I would be surprised if men actually pay more money overall during the dating process.

    That is a false statement. Women who don't date still buy makeup, spay for hair maintenance, clothes, etc. I knew a woman who stated that she couldn't be bothered to improve her appearance to be more appealing to men, but she still had clothes, shoes, makeup, and occasionally paid a pretty penny to get her hair done.

    Women claim to being spending all this money to attract men, but the fact is women spend money to impress other women. Not only can clothing and makeup purchases be amortized over several dates, they can be amortized over general daily use. That leaves off women getting dressed up to go out for ladies' night, or just going to bar and getting drinks bought by interested men but whom the women will never see again.

    You are simply grasping at straws.

    There is probably a requirement for 1 math and 2 English credits.

    You would give up the limited time for teaching needed information in the programming class to teach the tools. That is a mistake. Your own stated goal would suffer because they would lose depth of knowledge in the programming classes.

    Knowing how to set up a web server is not important. Almost all the web programmers I have worked with couldn't set up a server and never needed to because there is someone like me whose job is doing that.

    Chances are those classes you think should be dumped are required by the certifying authority for this to qualify for an AAS. Many of the classes will be for people new to programming, so programming tools, etc. will be needed. There is no need for a basic web server admin class. There is most-likely an entirely different AAS degree for that kind of knowledge.

    That is a false comparison. In the second case the judge never tells the police to produce a document as in the first, thus there is no way for the police to be in contempt of court.

    In situation 2, it is quite possible that 200 cases will now have evidence thrown out, appeals filed, etc.

    Using the wood as a filter versus using it as firewood or building material has a cost.

    Using the wood as a filter versus carving it into a useful shape or something that can be sold has a cost.

    A) How long is the person supposed to go without water while the tree grows? Or should the person drink the dirty water and possibly die before the tree is grown
    B) That assumes a tree of the right type will grow where the person is located. If the local climate is not conducive to trees growing, then the person will have a long wait.
    C) Assumes that the person will have the time and energy to "tend it properly". If one is spending 12 hours a day just to survive, tending a tree may not be possible.
    D) Assumes the person has access to enough land to grow a tree in the first place. There is not a lot of places to grow trees in favelas and urban slums in the second and third world.

    If it is so quick and easy because "stick a seed in the ground, tend to it properly, and bada-bing-bada-boom, a tree will grow", please grow one and let us know how long it takes.
