The use of a GPS device to track your whereabouts is not an invasion of privacy in New Jersey, a state appellate court panel ruled today.
No, that is not what the panel ruled. The panel ruled that someone with at least partial ownership of a vehicle may install, or cause to be installed, a GPS tracking device even if said person is not the primary user of said vehicle.
This ruling is very narrow and does not address placing a GPS tracking device in a car one does not own.
Here is what you do, go to the library and check out the history of nuclear power from 1975 forward. Rent and watch the movies "The China Syndrome" and "Silkwood". Then, check out the last time a nuclear reactor was built to completion in the United States.
The fact is that the cost of building a reactor complex skyrocketed because of excessive regulations and protests and lawsuits by environmentalist organizations. Thanks to FUD spread by environmentalists, NIMBY was the watchword for new nuclear plants. It literally became impossible to afford the initial costs associated with building the plants, and even if a plant was built, it's costs could never be recouped.
Yes, let's ask them. And, while we are at it, let's ask them when was the last time a Richter 9 earthquake and a 40 foot tsunami hit them as well. I am sure everything you do is done expecting something that happens once a millennium.
Nuclear has been opposed by "environmentalists" for the last 35 years to the point that it was not possible to build a nuclear reactor anywhere in the U.S. for over 20 years. This is not about subsidies, you fucking idiot. It is literally about the spreading of fear and lies to suppress the use of nuclear power.
The problem is that dog "breeds" are so inbred that they often have serious medical conditions. Besides things like epilepsy and hip dysplasia, there are pugs and other short snout breeds often have breathing problems. Bull dogs are often delivered via cesarean because their heads are too big. Shar peis often have skin problems. Great Danes and other large breads die young because of heart problems. Most herding breeds develop neurological problems when not allowed to follow the instincts for which they have been bred.
Mutts are often much healthier and smarter than pure breads.
I see, so it used to be that is someone was arrested with a dime bag of pot, he would be sentenced to more than a year in jail on the first offense? Or, are you talking about a "non-violent drug user" who has a key of pot? Or, are you talking about the guy who gets arrested with 5 grams of crack?. You are a moron who doesn't know how the law actually works.
You do realized you completely invalided your comment when you mentioned "movie witch hunt", right? And, people don't go to prison for minor convictions like smoking some weed. Those are misdemeanors and occasionally 3rd degree felonies, which generally result in pre-trial intervention, a fine, probation, drug treatment, and/or jail time. Generally in that order as well.
Maybe you should learn about the criminal justice system before you start talking shit.
Everything they did they did anonymously and believing they were "1337" enough not to get caught. They didn't sand up for anything. They didn't put their asses on the line. As soon as they started being identified, they shit their pants and are not trying to hide from the consequences of their actions. Consequences they never thought they would have to deal with.
Choosing not to be a cowardly, criminal, internet tough guy asshole doesn't make me a pussy. It makes me an adult. Now, shut the fuck up and try acting like an adult instead of the cowardly, criminal, internet tough guy asshole you are.
No, the point is that they are a bunch of internet tough guy bullies and once their "dox" started coming out, they turned tail and ran. They are going to try to hide, but now that those they have attacked have information on them, they are going to be hunted down.
You do know that much of the cost is caused by over-regulation and challenges by anti-nuclear people. Please provide a source for your claim. And, make it a reputable one.
Really? So, find me a video of the Army Corps of Engineers discussing a flood in an interior state and referring to the flood height in feet above sea level. Hell, find me a report on a flood that uses feet above sea level that doesn't involve a city at or near sea level.
Really? Have you watched the news lately? They never say "The flood crested at 1007 feet above sea level", they say "The flood has crested at 7 feet. That is 3 feet above flood stage."
Using sea level as a reference for localized flooding in the interior of the continent is pointless. The reason is obvious when one considers the fact that the surface of the continent is not smooth nor regular. Omaha, NE is at about 1000 feet above sea level. Nashville is about 580 feet above sea level. Death Valley is BELOW sea level. A flood that crests at 1001 feet above sea level is minor in Omaha and utterly catastrophic in Nashville. And, doesn't even register in Salt Lake City.
It is positively idiotic to use sea level as a reference, which is why the only people who do it are those being disingenuous. From news organization, to emergency management organizations, to the Army Corps of Engineers, to people stacking sandbags, all people seriously involved in a flood refer to the height of a flood in relation to localized normal levels.
You are right that a few inches can make a difference in a flood. That is why people don't reference a standard that has no bearing on their current situation and location.
No, what will kill nuclear power will be people like you and mdsolar who are idiots and don't know the first thing about nuclear power. Oh, and the firehose is feed of submissions, not a list of all stories available on the internet. I am just curious as to why you think editors like soulskill and timothy will allow a pro-nuclear story on slashdot.

How much would nuclear be contributing if so-called environmentalists hadn't spent the last 35 years fighting against nuclear power.

Puppy boiled in coconut milk, Polynesian classic.
Actually, without the pet industry, these animals will be euthanized. After all, what is one person going to do with 50 dogs he can't sell?
Why are you posting as an AC? Are you that afraid to lose karma that you can't stand behind your words?

So, what you are saying is that it is not the software manufacturer's fault if the software's update system is inadequate?

Yeah, you believe that because you are a paranoid dumbass.
Too late. They are going to be hunted down regardless of whether they quit or not.

Quoting a hypocrite like Chomsky doesn't advance your cause.
Hmm. You are posting as an A.C. because why? Could it be that you are afraid your karma will be trashed by those "protecting" the slashdot groupthink?
Why should I complain about a paywall, when the editors give front page time to an anti-nuke, FUD-mongering troll like you?

Well, a 1,007 foot flood sound a lot more dangerous than a 7 foot flood and mdsolar is a little anti-nuke bitch who is spreading F.U.D.
The entire Omaha, NE area is above 1,000 sea level.
