They explain this by saying the website is another division of BestBuy and that they are actually competing in most regards. They wanted me to go home, order the item and select the "pick it up at the store" option. I said to the salesman, "I'll give YOU the sale and I'd get he same item." He seemed to NOT grasp that concept, so I bought the item at the local CompUSA, not that I'll be able to do that now. UGH!!!!!!!!
You can also point to Al-Ghazali - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Ghazali - as the destroyer of the enlightened Islamic dynasty as it was known. 100 years before Roger Bacon's time, Al-Ghazali lead a "Cultural Revolution" in islam which forbad any and all thought that men determined their own fate. All actions were a direct act of God and free will was non-existent. Thus, any teachings of Aristotle, Plato, etc... were heresy. Islam turned from a pinnacle of intellectualism to a parasite living off the advances of the west, biding it's time until their sheer masses can subjugate the rest of the world into their way of thinking through violence and intimidation.
True, but the 300 mile up design requirement precluded this massive space station from playing any part in the next step of humanity in space. It's been a huge waste since day one.
... from a mile away. NASA follows up it's biggest boondoggle to date(the Space Shuttle), with the biggest boondoggle in it's history(the ISS). Both platforms should be scrapped at this point in favor of a truely long term "humans in space" approach. But that would require NASA/Congress to admit they made HUGE mistakes with these two projects, and we all know how likely that is to happen. So we'll jsut continue paying bllions for two POS projects that are killing the space program.
That was ultimately the only option. But the cable company was Adelphia. I don't know if you know how screwed up Adelphia is or not, but their "HSIA" was 300k/56k for $59 a month. No wonder HSIA is laggin in the US.
Sorry, it's not just rural. I used to live 4 miles East of AOL and what used to be MCI/Worldcom's World headquarters and could NOT get HSIA other than outrageously expensive satellite. This is a densly populated area, where most were not close to Verizon's CO. So please spare me the "it's only rural folks".
Maybe we have different email habits. To me, I'd copy all the addresses, and I only have a couple important emails from over the last couple of years on my FREE email account. And if they were SOOO important, then she should have paid.
I don't understand the problem here. She wants a company to bend over backwards to help her, even though, I'm sure, she accepted the terms.
The same thing happened to me with hotmail. I forgot to login for over 30 days and everyhting was gone. BFD. You get what you pay for. If it was SOOOOOOOO important, perhaps she should have made a local copy of it on her machine.
Until they release versions of their software that works with OS X and Linux? If software is written to only work on 90% of the PC's out there(wintel), like iTunes with the iPod, then shouldn't the software manufacturers be forced to release working verions on other operating systems?
Two out of the four blockbuster video's in my areas(I live in one of largest AND largest growing counties in the US) have closed shop in the last year. These 4 have co-existed "happily" together for years. I'm not saying that netflix is the cause, but it sure didn't HELP these outlets.
Because the scientific communty would still shun any scientist that questions the present assumptions. Now take away funding from those voices that dare to question and we would has even less understanding than we have today.
Sorry I don't have access to the trasnscripts of the secrett Apple/IBM meetings. I guess I jsut have to go by Steve's word since the IBM folks were at the keynote and they didn't call him a liar.
Yes, you repeated what I said about goofball activists. All I was trying to get accross was that I'd actually listen to one who makes their money talking politics over one who does not. ANYONE can talk politics, but not everyone can make a living off of it. Making a living off of it means you actually have the voice of a willing group of people. To blather on in an area you do not belong an subsume that you speak for a large group of people makes me NOT like you. I don't know how mush simplier I can make it for you.
I guess you missed the whole irony thing going on there at the end. Celebs bashing bush, yet basically taking his same stance of either you are with us, or you are a flyover red state, inbred, hick. Hypocrisy, they name is hollyweird celebrity.
Don't get me wrong. I am NO fan of 'ole Rusty(his top 40 DJ name), but you MUST recognize that he has earned his money/celeb in the arena of politics. Political entertainment, but still politics. Robbins earned his celeb as an actor. That is a difference.
I'd bet that you think Jon Stewart is some super brain, when he really is a historically failed comedian who got lucky with an anti-rush style show. To be honest, I'd listen to Stewart before Robbins any day because Stewart at least deals with the politics on a daily basis and MUST realize the irony inherent in politics to turn it into comedy. Robbins would know irony if it hit him in the face. The same with his wife.
And Susan Sarandon's holier than thou, condescending style of activism is a turnoff to me. They(susan and Robbins) are in the Oprah, Balwin, Babs, Janeane Garofalo, etc... activist-celeb group. You know the type - the 'either you are with us or against us' types.

Exaclty. It's not costing me a dime, nor will it in the future.
A hair less than those who said they wouldn't buy an MP3 player for $400 when the 1st generation iPod was released.

Has it surpassed the Billions that have been thrown away on the Shuttle or ISS yet? If not, then I'd disagree.

He who defines the scale(x and y axis), defines the patterns.

Nah, that would be too simple.
All while in the nude.
Excuse me, there goes another vurp.
I know that, you know that. But we are talking politicians here.

To deny that the scientific community discourages dissent, especially involving sacred cow topics is being very naive.
Because the scientific communty would still shun any scientist that questions the present assumptions. Now take away funding from those voices that dare to question and we would has even less understanding than we have today.

When Apple switched TO IBM FROM Motorola, Steve announced at the Macworld(or was it WWDC) keynote that IBM had promised 3.0GHz G5s within a year.
I KNOW they are not the same. I was just point out OLD speed promises from IBM that never came to pass.
/., or else the "Nobody will ever need more than 640k RAM!" retort will quickly follow.
And be careful of labeling things as overkill here in

Exactly, Has IBM yet hit the 3.0 GHz they promised Apple 3 years ago?
