We have more people in jail than the USSR ever did. The US prison population has jumped by leaps & bounds since the 1980's. This is what happens when you privatize the incarceration business. More laws = more money.
The parents need to hire the nastiest, dirtiest, scumbag lawyer they can afford & file civil & criminal suits for Wrongful Imprisonment & Child Abuse. Even if the kids were *trying* to damage the tree, the actions taken by the police were hardly waranted.
So who will be the first sex-shop busted for having the word TOY in their Meta-tags? Another stupid, worthless law from our stupid, worthless government.

My question is, what if you've already got 10-20 people to switch?
"And if they have the opportunity to commute to "downtown Chicago" once a week (I'm relying a bit on my bad knowledge of American vernacular here, I think downtown means the centre of the city?) then why can't they travel to another school in Chicago? Surely there'd be some school in Chicago that won't get a child beaten up."
With the exception of Magnet schools, you can't pick & choose what school you go to.
I've heard that you use less of your brain while watching TV than you do while you're sleeping. Personally, I quit watching TV a few years ago & really haven't missed it a bit. I have been to read a *lot* more though.

Yes, especially in people with reduced or non-existant immune systems.

Yeah, no doubt. It will be hard to go down as the most corrupt President since Nixon without being talked about.

"...Now if your Dad's GF's Daughter (we call them Great Aunts here)..."
Why? They are no relation... If his dad was married the daughter would be the poster's step-sister.
A Great Aunt would be your Grandparent's sister.
