Lot's of you guys are saying SF Bay Area is up. Well, my RCA modem now has two solid lights but still no dhcp connection. Am I the only one without service or what? Mind you I didn't get a phonecall yet, but their website says my zip code is back up now. Any ideas?
Anyone have any experience transferring their domains from network solutions? I just got a new server and have been trying to change the IP for my primary nameserver w/ NSI. No results, of course and their phone support is only Mon-Fri. I have another domain on dotster.com and it's beautiful.. web-based w/ username/password.. instant changes.. prompt support.. cheap as hell (I got in on the $15/yr deal). Anyways, what involves transferring a domain? Has anyone actually successfully done this?
What's going to happen with server51 of Andover and sourceforge of VA? They seem to have the same purpose and whatnot
IMHO, I think server51 is a lot cleaner and more organized.. sourceforge seems like a mess to me when I browse randomly looking for stuff. Maybe the best direction for them to take is specializing s51 to a certain type of project, while making sourceforge the catchall of project hosting services.
Regardless, we'll never know the real opinions of those being affected by this acquisition. Personally, it would be nice to know what scoop (freshmeat & s51) really thinks about this hoopla.
I just looked at JustLinux.com once after seeing my name on slashdot (ultra elite)=P Anyways, i looked at the articles and clicked More.. - surprisingly.. a comment structure extremely similar to the old/. before all the new scoring and threshold stuff came upon us. Looks like JustLinux.com could have downloaded the old slash package and just modified the colors/templates to match their site.
CmdrTaco: good job on all the new features. Slashdot will always be the #1 Linux News site, who cares about those portals.
or wait til thursday ..
I still don't have service in Sunnyvale, CA and my friend in Mountain View does yet he is literally 2 miles away, maybe less.
