If we tone it down won't the article just become the intro anyway? As a Ph.D. Chemist I pull up those articles all the time to find equations when I'm not near my books. Having a ready repository of knowledge for multiple levels of skills is a desirable trait for Wikipedia, not a detriment. Perhaps a clear delineation of basic vs advanced information would be useful, but all should stay.
No matter what you do, or what you say there are always people who are too ignorant and lacking in the ability to adapt that they will fight it. Darwin calls these the exstinct species, or the soon to be.
Look at history, there is always a major upheave about ever generation as the new age of people decide that the world the parents wanted was better for their parents, but doesn't work for the now.
People live and people die, the only this that remaind constant is change. Just tell people, like pulling off a bandaid it just has to be done and will hurt some no matter what.

My internet has been slow and choppy since yesterday, and I am an @home cable user. SO this has been around longer then 9:11am EST.
The biggest problem with companies basicly being counted as people by the law, is that they don;t die like most humans.
