    How about these nitwits find some better ways to improve the human condition before they go off to tilt at windmills. I am all for the prevention of cruelty to animals, but this has just gone over the top into nutcake land. I don't want anything to do with PETA anymore because of the looney positions they started taking in the past few years.

    The whole lot of them, just look silly and make it a lot harder for reasonable actions to be taken.

    You should include the business owner on your emails to your boss outlining what is wrong AND how to fix the problem. Include in the what is wrong part, why the app is vulnerable.

    Since you state that you came into the migration towards the end of the process, state that you are just now understanding that these issues even exist.

    I doubt they did sufficient testing. The issues they have now, should have come up in testing. Yeah, sometimes unforeseen things happen in production that did not show up in testing, but this goes ways beyond that. The Federal version of this system was, simply put, never tested from end to end. I suspect that is what happened here.

    Okay, so that sounded like a defense of Oracle. Well, it ain't. Blame should be placed where it belongs; on the government hacks that put this tragic waste of tax-dollar money into service.

    And then I have to ask; why the f*ck are they not using open source?

    Got any citations for this generational shift? None of the kids I know do that, they all want huge honking flat panels. On the other hand, I do most of my watching on my 4 inch Droid smartphone or 7 inch Samsung tablet. And I'm closer to 60 than 50.

    My kids ( early 20s ) didn't even notice as they moved on from the site last year. They wouldn't be caught dead on what they call an 'old people site'.

    For example, Kodak built up their brand by making decent cameras and film. Then they destroyed it by selling chinsy shit cameras under the Kodak name as a last ditch effort to keep afloat.

    You had me until this nugget. Kodak always sold inexpensive or 'chinsy shit' cameras. Do you remember the Brownie? The problem for Kodak was that their core business; film, chemicals and paper went the way of the buggy whip. Some of us still use film, but most photography is done digitally. And the camera business as a whole, including digital, is in a massive slide as fewer and fewer folks buy stand-alone cameras, opting instead to use their camera phone.
