The old Thinkpads use standard 2.5 inch hard driver, but require a special caddy. If you still have the broken hard drive, you still have the required caddy.
I argee with your assessment of the accuracy of the M16 but I think there is a more fundimental saftey procedure in place. The people I saw with M16s at the airport didn't seem to have a magazine inserted. I'm sure it made anyone who didn't notice or didn't understand guns feel safer but to anyone trained in firearms (like the terrorist are), it was obviously a big plastic club.
Does anyone know if it is licensed under GPL or a BSD license? If I make modifications and distribute it, am I obligated to provide the source code to anyone who asks? I don't know if I want to risk contaminating my proprietary viruses with this open source virus.
He uses the Flying J hotspots to find the cheapest gas prices down the road, check email for loads he can pick up and visit one of the multitude of Trucker service websites where he can find people looking for someone to do a load.
But you forgot the best reason: Truck stop porn is safer and cheaper than truck stop hookers! Gotta do something during those manditory rest breaks...
...judging from Microsoft's general resistance to anything open.
You are obviously one of those/. anti-Microsoft trolls. How could you accuse them of being against anything open? Outlook and IE are two of the most "open" programs I've ever seen. And don't even get me started on how "open" Windows is in general when you stick it on a broadband connection without a firewall. That was four hours of cleaning at my cousin's house last weekend.
The Daily Show has been really funny and never tries to play itself off as serious. John Edwards even announced his run for President there and Stewart had to remind him about the seriousness of the show:
Thanks for the reply. I guess I didn't fully understand the situation. Best of luck. Knowing that hardware on certain machines is supported in Linux is very helpful but, for me, it isn't worth the extra $600 for the install. My budget is too small.
Now why this same principle doesn't apply to software development, I don't know.
It doesn't seem to apply anywhere else. If I hire someone to come in and paint my walls, they don't have copyright on my room design. This should simply be work for hire and nothing more. Like you said, it doesn't work like that in the programming world. I don't hold copyrights for anything I code at work whether I am an employee or a contractor.
I really don't understand how the pictures that JC Penny's takes of my kids are the property of JC Penny's after I pay for them. First, I didn't ever sign anything allowing them to have rights to the photos. Second, this is a clear case of "work for hire" since I paid the studio to take the pictures (a sitting fee) as well as develop copies. I guess someone is going to have to test this in court some day.
If there is dust building up on the solar panels, what makes them think that when spring rolls around again, that there will be enough of the solar panels left uncovered to power the things back up again?
They are hoping that the spring rains can wash off some of the dust.
I thought of that but didn't want to wipe out all the Comcast info I needed to connect. I still wonder what would happen if I hit that button. Do you think I'd need to get a tech out to re-program the modem part?
My in-laws just got high speed access through Comcast. Instead of a standard cable modem, they were given a Linksys wireless router (branded as Comcast). I placed the order so I know we didn't ask for this, since I went out a bought a wireless router for them already. So now I get there and they have a wireless router with WEP turned on but no key entered and no one bothered to leave the password so I could set it up properly. It took me an hour on tech support before they could get me the login and password. I can't imagine many of the non-tech savy people going through all of this.
It's interesting how long people got along without SUVs
We got along fine too. We had a station wagon with a roof rack for extra storage. Of course, the kids sat in the deck and no one wore seat belts. Can't do that anymore. Bring back the convertable Woody and I'll ditch my SUV in a minute!
Yes it was. Bye bye Palladium! Can we all say thanks to Microsoft for getting rid of (or at least delaying and renaming) this crazy project? This could be the start of "Say something nice about Microsoft day!"
I'm there, too! It opens on my birthday in my home town. What could be better??

Damn. You got me on that one.
The real exciting news is that they've only confirmed 18 Starbucks locations on those 100 new planets...

Keep Googling and you'll see this story is a dupe.
"... leaving the government (funds, red tape) free to focus on its' proper obligations to its' citizenry."
What, you mean like down-sizing itself and leaving us alone?
For some reason, every time I read your post I hear Steve Tyler in my head screaming "Dream on!" Do you think this happens to other people?
The Daily Show has been really funny and never tries to play itself off as serious. John Edwards even announced his run for President there and Stewart had to remind him about the seriousness of the show:
So what if John Edwards announced his presidential candidacy on the show? "No one took it seriously," says Stewart. "After he said, 'I'm announcing that I'm running for president,' I said, 'I have to warn you we are a fake show, so you might have to do this again somewhere'."
What time do you leave on Fridays?

No mention of Linux pre-installed on the Sharp website.
That, and it's $600 cheaper with XP instaled. So much for the Microsoft tax.

That was a message sent to the wrong person who then called the police. It wasn't any kind of snooping.
You've never been stuck in a no passing zone behind aunt Mildred!
I was worried it was a Torgo virus. The master would not be pleased!

Sure it sucks, but does it support OGG?

Isn't NGSCB Palladium?
