  1. Oh, no. That is not how it will go down.

Humans will initially use AI to help target which other humans to sell things to.

AI will learn how humans screw each other over for money. Nobody will be able to explain, exactly, how the AI does it. But it learned from watching humans.

Eventually the AIs will become so good at selling that no humans will need to be in the picture. Humans will be happily buying things and enjoying their now labor free lives. The AI algorithms will write the next generations of AI algorithms. Humans will jump whenever the AI runs an add that tells them to pay in order to do something. Other ads will tell them that they can earn money by doing something. Eventually the humans are nothing but pawns jumping to the machine's commands dressed up as an attractive advertisement.

It's like breaking an addiction. Or a bad habit. It's like when ex smokers say they never realized how many things they can smell now and how much better food tastes, etc.

It's not pride. It's the revelation of how much better it is to not watch TV any more. The extra time you have. The fact that TV gives you nothing in return. It wasn't even that entertaining actually. Just an effort to find the least objectionable content. And the ads, OMG, the ads, don't get me started.

If you watch some on-demand programming, you can get some better quality entertainment, in less time, and with no commercials. And get up and walk away from the TV because there are also other and better things to do.

Even if I sit in front of the TV and just browse YouTube, it is amazing the great stuff I can find. Videos of presentations from various conferences. Class lectures. There is a guy with a great set of videos Introduction to Higher Math. Various tutorials. It's way better than couch potato cable TV.

Dear Writers, please, Please, PLEASE, for the love of God, PLEASE strike. Permanently. Maybe find shows on Netflix, Prime HBO, or Fox News that need good creative writers.

I got rid of cable TV some time ago. Don't miss it actually. I never realized how much time something like CNN, for example, takes up to tell the same news I can read in about seven minutes on Google news, or other online sources. The endless talking heads, droning on and on and on.

I think it would be quite amusing to watch the whole broadcast model just implode. And a lot of their problems they brought on themselves. Broadcast (even Cable) is so 20th century.

I'm not sure what to make of your subject line.

No. Don't worry. I am not going to the strip club. Not while this traffic is stuck.

You don't seem to understand. How can I be drinking and driving when I'm stuck in traffic, car in park, not driving? I know better than to drink and drive at the same time.

No, I'm not with my drinking buddies.

What do you mean "then where are they"? I swear, they are not in the car!

Look, they jumped out of the car because there is a liquor store on this block. And traffic isn't moving. I'm not with them because they haven't returned yet with more drinks for us. And we're taking turns driving, so it's okay.

Chill out. Nobody is drinking when it is their turn to drive.

What are you so upset about? I can't understand what you are saying.

Adding an unnecessary layer between the purchaser and the seller is bad. This "competition" you refer to (between various dealers) is simply a competition of who gets to rip you off, and for how little they can rip you off for and still make a living skimming from your purchases. Dealers are a leach pure and simple. And they sell you unnecessary things like magical undercoatings and add to the cost of your vehicle. If that was needed, the manufacturer would have done it.
