  1. Re:They don't use the actual power lines, do they? on Ethernet Via Electric Conduits · · Score: 1

Around 1 month ago the last company in Germany offering Powerline Internet Access has closed down because the stuff was too error-prone, especially if you ran things consuming much power like Vacuum-Cleaners over the same line.

  2. Graphics vs. Games on PS2 Price May Fall, Gamecube Staying Put · · Score: 1

It's a pity that people judges consoles based on graphics. PS2, Xbox and Gamecube don't differ THAT much in terms of graphics power.
What counts to me ist the quality of the games and on this sector Nintendo was, is and allways will be the best. Just look at what really good games came out for PS2 in 2 years and compare it to what Nintendo will release 2002. I think, most of the PS2 Games are crap.
I won't even begin to talk about Xbox (lockups, price, games, controller,...).

  3. Re:Minidisc on Alternatives To The Floppy Disk? · · Score: 2

You can read about the exact MD-specifications on minidisc.org. This is the point I've always been wondering about. Minidiscs are _T_ _H_ _E_ perfect next generation Floppy. MO-technics, nice design, and the most important aspect: The Price! I've seen that they're more expensive in the US, but thats just a question of popularity. In Europe you can buy a 75min MD (~100MB) for $1.5. Compare that to ZIP,SuperDisk,Click-Disk or Memory Card of any Sort. The price-difference is huuuuge! The MD is almost 10 years old and as far as I know did Sony produce a PC-MD-Drive some years ago. But I think, they only want so sell their Memory Sticks now (64MB $150 X-( no way!) Jan
