In other news, it has been reported Apple is taking up a suit against the entire apple industry, including apple orchards. When asked for further comment, Steve Jobs replied, "You need to expand your horizons man. There's an entire world of litigation yet to be explored."
I think that's the point. Who wants to learn about the fundamentals of programming in an AP class? That stands for advanced placement. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be learning advanced stuff in my AP class. ---
As a current high school student, and one who will probably be taking AP compsci sometime in the next few years, I would just like to voice my concern. Is Java really the language of the future? Is it that much better than C++? Isn't C++ more widespread than java anyway? Maybe they're trying to standardize Java like C++...
Isn't this a bad thing? Sun is still having trouble getting java running efficiently on their own specialized hardware...
All I have to say is, I'm not taking my stupid AP compsci class if I have to do it in java. Why... I get all jumpy after 2 cups of regular coffee. A year's worth of java would turn me into a nervous wreck, in so many ways.;) ---
I mean, the telco's are already being compensated for the use of their phone lines with us paying for monthly internet access!!! While the foreign countries might have plans that make people pay by the minute for phone calls, even for local calls, the people are still paying! Who cares if they make the call over the internet or if they make the call using a standard phone, the phone companies make money.
I'm more worried about a company getting control over something it has absolutely no right to control though, than cost. Why don't we just let phone companies patent speech? Then, they could just sue us if we spoke anywhere without paying royalties... ---
Coop. Like Hanging at Mister Coopers house! But seriously, cooperative companies? Don't count on it. They're all out to get each other's blood. Or semen...
Shout out's to Pikachu and Satori!!! ---
Anyone else get the feeling their first announcement was just to get some attention? They're acting like a bunch of kids who need to be paid attention to to have any fun, be it negative or otherwise... ---
You know, I can't wait to try these things out... Using a deadly bacteria to cure a probably more benign bacteria seems a little bit extreme if you ask me.
But then again, it would be pretty cool to have mothers saying "Don't eat off him, you might get salmonella!"
There don't seem to be any reviews that fully utilize a DDR Athlon system in there. Whats up with that? Are the companies too afraid of showing a light on the P4 that makes it seem like TOTAL crap? The media always loves a close fight... ---
I can't say I'm excited about this turn of events. Wouldn't it be better if they could just fight each other for a long time like Greece did, and then most of us could sit on the sidelines whilst they weaken one another. Then, when they're weakened enough, we can invade 'em just like the persian empire!
Course, I hope there aren't any macedonians hanging around in cyberspace... ---
So now consumers can equate transmeta with AOL, seeing as most consumers are idiots and it's the only product out that has a transmeta product in it.
You would think they would try to stay as far away from evil monopoly buisnesses as possible. They're trying to take themselves down as quickly as possible, huh? ---
Obviously, the pentium 4's performance lags (or will) behind Thunderbirds of similar clock speeds. But this thing is also a.18 die process.
When Intel moves to the.13 micron process, I know their power consumption will decrease, but will their performance increase at all? I mean, if they can't get the thing to 5+ gigahertz speeds, will it be very effective at all in the consumer marketplace? ---
Soooo.... Someone's going to spend millions (billions even?) to build a particle accelerator so they can make a different kind of particle to win the nobel prize so they can... Make back their initial investment? ---
As a 16 year old, and a "graduate" of the dare program, I would like to share my experience with the D.A.R.E. program. Well, it's not so much an experience as it is a simple sentence.
3 years after we finished D.A.R.E., almost EVERYONE is my class gets drunk every weekend. About 25% smokes weed, and I don't know how many (but it's not much) do any harder drugs, though I doubt many are into those. yet.
So, dare is a joke. My generation isn't going to listen to a bunch of police officers telling us drugs aren't the way to go. They're just too stupid. ---
I think Jobs has the right idea here. Nobody cares as much about apple hardware if it's not even slightly compatible with any widely accepted software, besides of course what Microsoft decides to throw at it. Opening up the world of linux to Apple hardware means it can now be used by the power users/graphic artists, AND the geeks. If they drop the price on their hardware, I'd drop my intel box for an apple running X any day. ---
Why does it seem so difficult for these people to decide which digital computer came first? All they have to do is look at the freaking date at which they were manufactured. Maybe then this big pissing contest can end. ---

Wasn't it thriving without the RIAA forcing it's hand into things??? ---
Wait, this is a joke, right? Cuz otherwise, it sounds like a ripoff designed to suck money away from unwitting webmasters. Heh.

Proprietery tags. DUH!
And netscape's horrible instability... But that's probably just because of it being programmed in visual c++...

PETA won't stand for this. I can already see the lawsuit's coming, along with the spraypainted keyboard's and silicon is murder signs. *sigh*

Microsoft seems to (lately) be rather keen on handing out the handcuffs.
Maybe it's time to bring out the fisticuffs and see how well they fight back?
