    I've had my first gen macbook pro's battery replaced twice. Once right before applecare ran out, and once about 4-5 months afterwards. No hassle at all to get it replaced, free both times. Not sure why anyone's bitching. It's not like Apple's replacement battery price is way out of line compared to others, and on top of that, they do the work for you, so, errr, where's the problem...?

    The bugs, I wasn't aware of (I haven't used KDE for a long time, but I still like it on linux). But there were definitely clear information provided that KDE 4 was not for normal users. It was even on slashdot, for gods sakes.

    I remember the huge blowup when KDE 4 was first released. I also remember the "this is released for development use only".

    You may not recall perhaps because you didn't pay attention and you were using distributions that prepackaged KDE for you.

    Because the KDE 4.0 transition was marked as "FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY". It was clearly marked as not for normal/daily use. They had to have a 4.0 framework in place so that new development can be targeted against it.

    So why wouldn't they be snarky at someone who cannot read?

    my point was that aftershocks are still earthquakes, and if you look the link provided, one of them started at 1922 and ended at 1934.

    12 years of earthquakes. whether you call them aftershocks or whatnots, it's still multiple earthshaking events.

    Also, the 7.0 vs 9.0 is simply a "very big" versus a "ginormously big" earthquake. Both will kill.

    if you are building something, why artificially limit yourself, especially since in cases like this, you might not want them to go back and "upgrade" it later...

    I do not authenticate to any services on anything I don't control.

    If you do, more power to you, but the same malware that can keylog your session can also insert itself into your data stream, whether there's SSL or not. So I don't understand what are the advantages of logging in on any computer you do not control.

    I'm referring to your previous comment that 2 factor authentication only needs to be set up once. If that's the case, it is *NOT* 2 factor authentication.

    What they are asking for is not special treatment, just for you not to be a fucking asshole, which I see is damned near impossible.

    Here's a free hint: If you respond to someone wearing a hot outfit, and they said no, then get the fuck away. Touching them or saying "hey baby wanna fuck" is the wrong thing to do in almost any social context.
