Even when Opera is spoofing it's user agent string the text "Opera" is still in there and anyone making a reasonable effort to identify browsers will be able to count it accordingly.
Opera's spoofing doesn't hide that it's Opera, it only acts a workaround for sites that only detect a common part of the IE/Mozilla UA string and wouldn't do anything if one of those aren't found.
I used to work at a small company where a guy came in and was trying to get us involved with some dodgy "crypto" product. Management were quite taken with it (he could talk and even had a patent!) but technically it was a load of horse shit with some pretty multicolour diagrams. That FAQ helped me crystalise my objections and the guy was given the heave ho before the company did anything embarrassing.
I'm not sure how that description fits a scenario where a browser popa up a window and tells you that tells you what might be going on.
If I am asked about the certificate when I am buying something online or visiting my bank I probably won't read all the details but I will surely be clicking no.
Accessing an SSL site over wireless is perfectly fine if you aren't a cretin.
and the executive stock dumping began shortly thereafter, what do you make of this situation?
SCO executives are such nice people that they decided to share the wealth that would undoubtably follow from their brilliant lawsuit idea with lucky investors?
Remember when they tried to introduce smart tags? They only aimed to gain MS revenue, not directly stop content providers from getting it.
Content providers simply wouldn't stand for it. If MS releases a browser like that then a lot of websites will choose not to serve it content.
I wish I could come up with that kind of "bad business model"
Seriously though your "possible situation" is 100% laughable. If MS released such a browser it would take a long time to seriously penetrate the market and there would be strong resistance not just from Google. If the browser won't show ads then 99% of sites out there would refuse to serve it content.
Google will certainly face challenges but to suggest that adwords revenue will simply disappear is absurd.
than I have burning laptops.
Ok, so I've only seen one burning vehicle, but it was going up a real treat!
That said you'd certainly want some sort of protection so that one catastrophically failing battery didn't take the rest with it.
Really?
From here it seems like the days of websites in general experimenting with flash are pretty much over. It seems like Flash has found it's niche in adverts, games and Hollywood websites and is pretty much confined to that.

Dude, marriage means one thing, and changing it to mean a new thing is not something I approve. Let 'em get civil unions and change the laws to include benefits and visitation right to civil unions, instead of changing marriage, change the technicalities that make marriage a necessity.
Marriage does not mean one thing, it has and does mean different things in different places and different times. For example marriage has sometimes been considered insoluble (and probably still is in some places). However for most of us it isn't. In some times and places men have been allowed multiple wives. In some cases marriages are arranged between people who have never met. Ttradition alone is no argument because it could equally be used to support slavery or deny women the vote.
Funnily enough when homosexual people in Australia did get civil unions recognised in the Australian Capital Territory the federal goverment overturned it because (get this) our constitution gives the federal goverment jurisdiction over marriage. So even if homosexual people do call it a different name to avoid 'offending' people's sensibilities the opponents of homosexual unions will still call it marriage if it suits their position.
I think it's sad. I see these old men trying to hang on to the status quo but to me it seems senseless. My generation has grown up alongside "out" gays. We've had them as friends, bosses, workmates etc etc and know we have nothing to fear from them. As such I think state recognised homosexual unions are only a matter of time and these tired old people in power hanging onto their prejudices will soon be history. In the mean time they are just denying people equality.
What a load of horse shit. The world has been in constant flux and many organisms have been on the arse end of it. I'm for making sure we don't join them.
I actually took it to a repair place (an official Sony Repair place which way be the mistake) who told me they couldn't fix it and it would require a new mainboard. I thought this was wierd but other people I have talked to have said that with the way components are mounted on boards these days it isn't uncommon that they are hard to fix.
I have a friend who is good with this sort of stuff so I will buttonhole him next time he is in Sydney.
But attempting to update the wireless driver on my XP laptop was the one thing that invariably made it flakey necessitating painful uninstalls and reinstalls to make it happy again. If an updated driver were released I might skip it just based on the fact.
Of course I have other problems as the power socket on my laptop is now dodgy so a unit that cost ~$4000 AUD is now useless unless I want to spend ~$1500 AUD to replace its main board all for the sake of a 5 cent socket. Time for some amateur soldering!
I find it astounding that you can watch todays game (assuming you have) and come away with that opinion (though I'm also unclear on what you mean by "more traditional methods", I think knowing your opponent is a fairly traditional approach to most competition).
Tactically Australia were supreme today, Brazil's game was shut out almost entirely which is exactly what you'd expect if this software (combined with an excellent coach) was doing it's job. Brazil were permitted very few real opportunities to do what they wanted. Unfortunately for Australia they made good on them.
Australia lost because their final touch was marginally off and that is something that is very difficult to coach for and improve, when it comes down to it strikers either have the touch when needed or not.
Of course ability, flair and other "human" factors will always be an important factor. But if you are tactically unprepared then it is hardly worth turning up and you won't get away with it unless you have a massive skill superiority.
I am extremely grateful for your support, no matter which format you choose to legally obtain my music in, so you should do whatever makes the most sense for you personally. But since you ASKED
We as a race of beings are totally insignificant. period. We possibly could change the climate of the world in a rapid fashion if that was the sole goal of all humanity. But one random belch of unusual solar activity or a volcanic eruption could undo all our efforts, or do the job far better, in half the amount of time.
We as a race of beings have more biomass than any large animal that has ever walked on Earth and we change our environment to suit our desires on an unprecedented scale. Of course there are other aspects of nature that can cause massive change (and occasionally do). That does not mean we should ignore the effects of the part of nature called humanity.
Other areas that are classic fear tools (such as the polar ice caps) are seeing a net increase in that surface feature which is contrary to public desire/opinion/fear
So he writes a long sentence explaining one of the ways science advances (by disproving scientific theories that are wrong) and from that you take away that if you make any statement we don't have a negative for then you've done something "scientific"?
I suppose you've proved you are a fucktard at least!
"God exists" is not a scientific theory in that it has no expositive value.
"Global warming exists" is a scientific theory in that "global warming" is generally understood to mean (by a layman like me at least) that "the Earth is heating up because of an increase in atmospheric gases which absorb energy from the sun". Even in laymans terms there is clear expositive value and clear avenues of scientific enquiry (Is the Earth warming? Is there an increase in atmospheric cases that absorb energy from the sun?) which could disprove global warming or lead to further refinement.
apparantly

Is a good place to start if you want to protect yourself against people hawking dodgy crypto.

Was that actually meant to mean something?

For an OS you say is focused on the desktop Ubuntu has certainly making moves towards server space.
If you don't trust those other machines then you won't be installing and activating the google plugin on them will you.
That doesn't mean it won't be useful on computers you do trust.
Easy, I just use someone elses!
And if you video something you have to erase it after you've watched it once.
And you can't lend a video to a friend or family.
All we've really done is swapped one absurd and unworkable rule for a new set of absurd and unworkable rules.
