I regularly write letters to the editor explaining why I don't vote for local runners. Every year around this time we get an onslaught of mudslinging campaign commercials from *every* party that's running. I haven't seen a canidate in 5 years that deserved my vote.

I can imagine 10-15 years into the future when all crops are controlled by corporations. When all plants are non-reproductive to prevent patent infringment. Then we have a major catastophy. When the corporations fall, where will we get seeds to survive with when all known crops can only be genetically engineered and cultivated?
Iwork for a company that gets its staff from a temp agency. They hire most everyone after 30 days. Last week they had a "meeting" where *everyone* (including temps) were told they could leave early with pay. Today I picked up my check and i was shorted for that time. The temp agency says they don't know anything about it. I double-checked with a coworker that said he asked the supervisor that day if temps were included, and his answer was "yes". Can I force the company to pay me for the time they "promised"? There were about 70 people there at the "meeting", so I'm sure I could find people to back up what was promised.
Maybe if we can get some other companies doing this, we can finally get the nationwide fiber-optic internet access we were all promised to have by now.
couldn't it be said that since Linux is legally defined as being equal to Windows, then Microsoft is clearly overpricing its software. If Linux can be free, why can't Windows? Someone in Poland should sue Microsoft for their insane overpricing.
actually, i can prove that "flying pink invisible elephants" don't exist, if it's invisible, it can't be pink, therefore "flying pink invisible elephants" do not exist.
What happens if for some reason a natural mutation occurs and someone develops a gene that's patented? Granted it's pretty much impposible, but is that person sent a cease-and-desist letter to refrain from cell multiplying or reproducing?
They can get pretty rough. :)
The First Amendment only protects you from the government, not private entities.
If I tell you that you cannot pray in my house, you can't.
If McDonalds said you can't read your poetry in the bathroom to random strangers, you can't.
Why? There are plenty of real japanese tourists there already, they'll do just fine.
Reminds me of a scene in Office Space:
"Why should I change my name, he's the one that sucks"
"There was nothing wrong with my name until that no-talant ass-clown started winning grammies"
Just punch a whole in the top left-hand corner of the disk. There should be an outline of a hole there. They should work just dandy.
just get a decent router that does the PPPoE stuff and skip the windows step completely

All you need to do with Bush is say it'll help fight terrorism and he'll sign it.
a third party taking control is bad?

if they fall to the slashdot effect, then we'll pretty much know what kind of bandwidth they have up their sleeve.
This is what you want:

I'm still happy with my P2 350, 192MB ram, and TNT/Voodoo2 combo system.

Woohoo! I may be the next president!
Perhaps you would be interested in this& lt;/A> . It's $80, but it works with the floppy drives you already have, and can use 2MB,4MB(3.3volt and 5 volt).8MB,16MB and 32MB Smartmedia cards. You could buy a few of the disks for when students needed them, and sell the flash disks to the students.
FreeWWWeb has been dead for months (bought by juno) and FreeInet will be dead very soon (they ran out of money)
Gotta admit that when you're done putting all those AOL cds through the microwave, *those* are pretty aesthetic to the eyes.
If the ban is applied to the movie then he will also probably end up not being able to watch it in his own country either.
