    The First Amendment only protects you from the government, not private entities.

    If I tell you that you cannot pray in my house, you can't.

    If McDonalds said you can't read your poetry in the bathroom to random strangers, you can't.

    Just punch a whole in the top left-hand corner of the disk. There should be an outline of a hole there. They should work just dandy.

    I regularly write letters to the editor explaining why I don't vote for local runners. Every year around this time we get an onslaught of mudslinging campaign commercials from *every* party that's running. I haven't seen a canidate in 5 years that deserved my vote.

    I regularly right letters explaining why I don't vote for local politicians. Every year about this time we get commercial after commercial slinging mud at the other canidate. I haven't seen a canidate in 5 years here that deserved my vote.

    I can imagine 10-15 years into the future when all crops are controlled by corporations. When all plants are non-reproductive to prevent patent infringment. Then we have a major catastophy. When the corporations fall, where will we get seeds to survive with when all known crops can only be genetically engineered and cultivated?

    Iwork for a company that gets its staff from a temp agency. They hire most everyone after 30 days. Last week they had a "meeting" where *everyone* (including temps) were told they could leave early with pay. Today I picked up my check and i was shorted for that time. The temp agency says they don't know anything about it. I double-checked with a coworker that said he asked the supervisor that day if temps were included, and his answer was "yes". Can I force the company to pay me for the time they "promised"? There were about 70 people there at the "meeting", so I'm sure I could find people to back up what was promised.

    couldn't it be said that since Linux is legally defined as being equal to Windows, then Microsoft is clearly overpricing its software. If Linux can be free, why can't Windows? Someone in Poland should sue Microsoft for their insane overpricing.

    What happens if for some reason a natural mutation occurs and someone develops a gene that's patented? Granted it's pretty much impposible, but is that person sent a cease-and-desist letter to refrain from cell multiplying or reproducing?
