    No, Elop is what killed nearly Nokia but it's not quite dead yet. Just last quarter they sold 53 million phones in China using the Sybian system.

    No, you miss the point.

    The DOD didn't have a plan for Iraq. They had a plan (thrown together in a couple of months) for invading Iraq, they had no plan for what to do next.

    1. doesn't come from the tax payers, it comes from the electricity bill payers

    How many billions?

    US Federal science spending is around 30 billion: http://www.aaas.org/spp/rd/fy2014/BasicRes.jpg

    Half of that is the NIH, so we're talking about 15 billion for the rest.

    (roughly 5 billion for the NSF, 4 for DOE, 2, for DOD, the rest shared between NASA, USDA and "other").

    One, why do you think "scientists" would be involved? This is engineering.
