    And while it is true that "you can't take their guns" is a reasonable inference from "they are ready and waiting for you", it is also a reasonable inference that "you can't take their trousers"

    And, them being British, it's reasonable to assume that Revere was realy worried about them wanting his trousers.

    Not like we can build reasonably safe nuclear plants in less than a decade, so by the time we'll need it we'll be screwed over.

    A decade is a bit short but don't forget that France built 56 reactors in 15 years.

    Did the France of 1974 have bigger balls that the US does in 2011?

    If you asked somebody in 1985 what the chances of the shuttle being destroyed with all hands they would have said 1 in 100,000 launches or whatever - right now the trend is closer to 1:75.

    Not quite true, when Feynman asked people at NASA the managers came up with the 1 in 100,000 (or even "never"!) quotes. When he asked the engineers they came up with numbers between 1 in 50 and 1 in 100.

    Many banks (at least in the UK) still use a variant of username+password authentication [...] instead of the much safer challenge-response method using an external pin-device (like this) [...]

    This for me is the biggest sign that they're perfectly willing to seriously sacrifice security for the sake of saving a couple of pounds per customer on the pin-device.

    Got to hope the pin-device isn't made by RSA

    Today, winners are exempt from war crime trials until regime change occurs in their nation. Then sometimes they are hauled before the ICC or another international tribunal, because the new regime is willing to give them up.

    I don't know why you would make a connection to physics ... at all. Way out in left field, dude.

    The new fake environmentalism has nothing to do with science at all. Their own documents from the original Agenda 21 to the documents from the PCSD and ICLEI state that it doesn't matter whether the science can be proven or not, the agenda is the most important thing.

    3. the increase is of human origin
    4. global temperatures are increasing
    5. this increase is consistent with and explained by the co2 rise
    6. this is likely to have unfortunate consequences
