I've been using Apache since 1984 when I first fell in love with that bouncy Indian maid throwing a sledgehammer into the face of the nameless authoritarian white man, and I can tell you, the familial quality, the tribe-like feeling I would get among the Apache elite, is definitely going, going, gone.
Now the chiefs of the Apache wish to silence those braves among us who publicly fantasize about beating our anasazi and their ugly gooey desktops and Windows--and how do they do it? By forbidding us entry into the peace pipe hut of Jacob Javits! We must be silent, or lose our place? I say No!
If God puts souls into embryos that are going to be harvested (he's all-knowing, in most religions)... who is to blame for allowing the soul to be destroyed?
If God puts souls into people that are going to be murdered who is to blame for allowing the soul to be destroyed? Are you claiming that if I were to kill you it would be God’s (assuming He exists) fault? As an actor freely willing, it would be my fault whether God exists or not.
The flaw in your statement is that embryos are going to be harvested anyway.
/me smacks himself in the head for even getting into this.
There’s the Programmers Guild. They seem more concerned with the H-1B issue, but they state that among their goals are the setting of professional standards and the creation of a certification. As a “self-made programmer,” I don’t see how either of these would hurt me, but I know everything anyway.:.)
Actually, Ptolemy’s estimate of the Earth’s size, made 300 years later, came out 28 percent low. Successive measurements throughout Hellenic and Roman times, not being “in the know,” must have had them side with the Eratosthenetic projection. Columbus was actually following the Ptolemaic projection, if he were following anything but his own dumb fantasies.
Sounds like Nice Work, one of David Lodge's British "academic romances." A deconstructionist critic and a businessman visit each other's respective places of work once a week, with unfortunate consequences. Not that the public and private sectors would mess each other up, oh no...
No, it doesn’t. But then, she doesn’t say that, does she? It’s a “reflection” of who she is—I’ve certainly watched the video enough times to be able to know:.) I think this is true of anyone who uses a Macintosh. Some people have to use Wintel machines, say, at some office, perhaps, and can say that their use does not reflect their personalities. As someone who drags a TiBook to every site I go to even though the Rational product I support runs on Windows NT/2000, I can definitely say that my machine reflects my personality.
As a Macintosh user since 1984 (about March, or April?), I do follow this stuff and yes, it is pronounced Oh Ess Ten. If you had read Andrew Plotkin's log, thoguh, you'd understand the reference.
Gee, I posted this to the Apple section, which I thought would get less attention and not slashdot Zarfhome. Guess it's a slow news day?

Oh, wait, this is an Apple story? Sorry.
Yes, I’m a paying customer!
