My advice: read books on computer stuff you find interesting, leave your job if you're bored, and just keep coding cool stuff and improving your professionalism.
If you chase what's hot now, you're already too late. Just enjoy yourself and keep learning, and sooner or later your own area of expertise will serve you well.
You can't be serious. You really think Al Gore would have passed those budget-busting tax cuts and gone on that budget-busting Iraq adventure? That's ludicrous.
Because none of those things bite you until after breeding age, which is the only
thing evolution selects for, while an intelligent designer would presumably
want you to be comfortable throughout your life.

The Supremes recently ruled that you *must*
furnish ID to a cop, whether you're driving
or not: Hiibel v. Sixth Judicial District Court of
the state of Nevada, June 21, 2004
Here is SCO's toll free number: 1-800-726-8649. *They* pay the phone bill. If everyone reading this post calls them and gives them a long and detailed opinion on what they're doing, they might run out of lawyer money.
Remember to be polite, since the person answering the phone is not the person making these silly decisions.
My Dell Optiplex GX1 with integrated sound and video works just fine. It has a 440BX motherboard with an ATI XPert@Work video card, and a cs4232 sound card built in.
I used ALSA to get the sound going, following the directions here.

Oh, so I can migrate that leaked NT source code into FreeBSD's NTFS module and change the license to BSD and not get sued?
Excellent!
> But the key is to shake out all the cruft that has built up in the system. Every little bit of cruft is a bugfix that you'll have to make again.

1. They call Intel "dastardly". I tend to not
trust adults who talk like dungeon masters.
2. Any company with tens of thousands of employees
will have a "string of suicides" going at any
given time. Suicide is common.

It's my understanding that NT can't boot from a floppy, period. Which, I suppose, takes the hassle out of making a boot disk.
