    I don't understand why this isn't modded up.

    I prefer Xfce to LXDE, but basically 'installing a lightweight DE' (or a WM? Even better!) is what you should do.

    Wish I had not used up my mod points as I'd do it..Anyway, I'm looking very fondly at Xfce myself. On mt 2and Linux box I will be trying Unity,since Ubuntu is what's installed,but my crystal ball says:"You will be getting Xfce."

    . But this experience was horrible - 2 crashes within the first 15 minutes, definite slowness, and I'm pretty sure my gf will soon be asking to switch to a different interface, she's really uncomfortable with Unity so far.

    Going to have the latest Ubuntu on my new box...Your post really worried me...I am going to give it a try,but I suspect XFCE will be on that box soon enough.

    Can a pangolin lay eggs? I think not. Can a pangolin inject venom through its ankle? I don't think so. Does a pangolin have 6 poorly-understood sex chromosomes? No to that as well. Pangolin. Puh-leeze..

    So true..The platypus is off the charts when it comes to pure coolness.

    Cash they can seize (the booty funds "overhead," leaving more money from taxpayers to spend on boondoggle body scanner devices) is the name of the game. Some police agencies get vast swath of their funding from such seizure activities.

    We have an x cop as a next door neighbor and he basically said the same thing..He indicated the whole "war on drugs" was a huge money making racket and all sides are in on it.

    No tv here either..We just have a couple to watch DVD's and streaming video. This does not surprise me..They want to nickel and dime us to death..A company can have billions of dollars,but it is never enough..They are never satisfied. I stopped using Microsoft's OS years ago when I discovered Linux...Never looked back.. This reminds me so much of the Beatle's song Tax man.

    I'm not sure I'd trust opinion articles from LinuxInsider to be anything other than anti-linux trolling. Weren't they constantly talking up SCO during that whole debacle years ago?

    I heard this @ Linuxinternationals.org as well,so I don't know whether this website can be trusted or not..Is it anti-Linux? Not sure.

    Oh not at all, you see, unless you're a big corporation with a lot of lawyers, you can't own any content. So they look "oh it's the little guy again" and "yeah this content would be nice to own" and with that, it's theirs.

    Sums it up very nicely..Soon they will even own the air we breathe.
