Funny how Agent Smith didn't provide any evidence that humans were the only animal to act like a virus (funny how he refered to mammals when "animals" was more fitting).
Groups of lions and tigers have been known to take too much and die. Many animals (rat/stoat) have hunted others to extinction. Wild horses mangle their habitat. Rabbits are another easy example of a creature expanding beyond it's means and being forced to take new areas, like a virus.
But then of course this doesn't mean shit.
The matrix was a 'musing kung-fu kick but they really needed to work on the dialog.
If anyone wants to do further reading try "King Solomon's Ring" by Konrad Z. Lorenz - a book about the nature of many species of animals. Human's may be more destructive because of their brain (and the power it weilds) but animals are much more mindlessly destructive and violent, as a whole, than people today - and they have no chance of changing without a few millions years worth of evolution.
On the television their expert was someone from NASA. This made me kinda curious, as America did not agree in the recent talks about cutting down polution - and this would make their refusal to cut polution less of an issue.
ps. I hear in Highlander 4 they all come back and there's some major plot change to include both the teenage mutant ninja turtles and the care bears on voyage to mars. kick ass.
I offer a translation service for those that miss the point:
"the black and such that I am speaking of are not all of blacks..hence my mention of stereotypes. I know a lot about a lot of the blacks in my school, and they admit to me that they are doing it to make a statement..and they do! not just with their clothing and music, but with their actions." (whistling while they pick cotton no doubt;) "Often times blacks are the trouble makers. (this is not all the time, but it is a lot of the time. I do not shun these blacks, nor do i stay away from blacks. I often talk to blacks and hang out with a few blacks. I am not speaking for all blacks, but a lot of blacks are the way i was talking about. and yes..in my school...whites are counterculture..but noone seems to care bout whites.:) (just wait till whites rule the world someday)"
Nope. If someone's a dickhead they are a dickhead, regardless of whether they identify with goth, wanker, or hippy or sport billy or billy corgan. You're drag the lines of responsibility through "goths" and validate yourself by saying it's not all of them that you have a problem with, only some - the trouble makers.
What one goth or geek does has nothing to do with what another has done.
Most people, I have read, talk about Lego and say "Legos" instead of lego blocks. The company `Lego` say that the plural of Lego Blocks is still, however, `Lego` - but that's probably more for trademark reasons (most countries disallow you registering the plural form of your product too).
I couldn't give two hoots whether you mess about with people's accounts (you shouldn't, IMO) but it's not like you've built a system that thwocks people equally - there seems to be a sore spot with "signal 11" in particular. A festering sore, even. You do not go about closing people's accounts (sorry, "changing the passwords") equally and there are many account misuses.
Signal 11 is a poncy posey dickwad, let's not fibble over semantics, but you are *ahem* signaling him/her out, and first year behavioural students will tell you that a reaction is expected.
Oh, and your logic is amusing Michael. Because a person may get a new name you're not censoring them -- how is one supposed to prove that they are who they say they are?
If one were to change your account, regularly, there's little doubt that no one would believe your claims of being someone else. You can't build up a history of good posts, or karma.
(there might be the odd snap crack pop in XLib but most demo programmers I know have goals of tiny executables and SVGA.. not dozens of libraries and XLib. My associate is doing something ontop of GGI which i'm told is a lot better. An Amiga 500 could do something equally impressive, though).
Oh they do seed the scrap-yard (it's called "Scrapheap" then "Scrapheap Challenge" for most other countries). If anyone remembers the challenge to launch a rocket as high as you can, well - they found many widely scattered and unused £800 rockets... not very likely, now is it?
Also watch for the use of things not from the scrapheap such as ducttape and the ocassional use of dismantled tools/equipment from the assembly area.
Still, I don't want to introduce "bodging" to the troll vocabulary.
1. It will only be open sourced if they sell enough copies to cover their costs and make a bit of profit, Mr Molenux has said this in several interviews.
Pfaff. A parallel universes'*1 `Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus` littered with dead quips and anal english (...teachers).
Strunk and White not only didn't teach style, they had difficulty defining it. However the universals*1 of style are far too subtle for those hacks to sell, and so they end with the linguistic equivalent of teaching fashion indexed by pressed collars and radical flares.
Um, "talkback radio" - it's difficult to describe.
Phone-in radio shows since the 20s on some topic. It's frequented by many old people who bitch and moan about how children should go outside and dig things out of the ground... of course, it's all bitching and moaning, they don't do anything as the hosts don't solve any problems.
They are merely a bitching service, and one shouldn't expect more.
My point being that one shouldn't expect more from these services. They'll reason out and talk about how silly things are but they won't do anything - just like the cliche with Talkback radio (also known as "call-in shows"?). One should learn from the history not to expect more and if one wants to change things to put their efforts elsewhere.
Webforums are muttering old-woman-kniting-group but OnLiNe! (and a few goat sex anchors)
Flat text files are good for simpistic yes/no answers and for storing strings of domain names and such - but it's just linear expansion and there's no nature of child/parent and nesting. One cannot have configuration sections in flat text, this is what I mean by linear expansion: The text file just goes on and on, and you cannot create a tree of configuration settings and software cannot understand the context of a setting (does background colour here refer to the entire page of this button?). Yes, one could create sections in flat files and standise them, but then you're building in *ML features so why not use XML anyway.
Oh, and with meta data being kept in the file system (as of 2.41, I think?) a database would hopefully be made redundant as one could store any field of data as a file.
Ten years ago I would have agreed about text being used for configuration being wasteful (in comparason to binary?), but storage space is nothing these days and the benefits of any plain text editor are excellent. The time spent for most applications parsing text vs binary is neligable and I would much rather face configuring a well commented text file than a binary.

Perhaps Gary would be a better choice.

Pesky varments! Do tell of your experiences, though. Did they have a light on in the window? Did you climb the fire escape?
Yes. You're right.

ps. King of the Fjords? Pah...
Really? I thought he just sat in a room, other there, and wrote about it. My mistake.
Video cards, pretty much, just output to screen. They don't go back to the system, just funnel and output.
Or something.

Cut it out, editors.
Natch.

Question time... it's all about question time.
Why not? Local community rags have survived soley on advertising for a while now - they give them away and I get half-a-dozen each week.
No wait, that was Rock N' Roll.
