I won't speak to others, but my State's government plays almost no direct role in my life. The sales tax is probably the largest notable impact, followed by licensing and vehicle registration. The federal government, however, has way too much influence over my daily life, even if it's just because of the visiblity.
It's really a matter of perception, but it appears as if my State's government has no power over me as the Federal government has stolen it all. That's why I don't really know or care about local politics at all.
Copyright law is supposed to benefit the People, not the producers. When copyright law is once again sane I may consider paying heed. Since that will never happen I will never feel obligated to follow the law, as it is morally repugnant.
Bush in particular, and politicians in general, do not believe in personal accountability. They don't mind if we are accountable to them, but the mere suggestion that they or their minions should be accountable to us is tantamount to treason these days.
I've said many times since 9/11/01 that Bush is the greatest terrorist the world has ever known. No one in recorded history has managed to terrify upwards of millions of people in such a short amount of time.
That's completely circular. Ultimately, we have freedom of speech because the Government hasn't (yet) taken it away. If free speech is taken away in terms of law, it is necessary to break the law and correct the situation in any way possible. If free speech is removed through force than it does not matter whether you ever had the law on your side.
That's funny, I think you're an idiot. How is showing up as a generic drive an "integrated music player"? Oh right, it isn't.
You don't have to like it, but an iPod integrates with Apple's music app and Apple's music/media store. iTunes will notice if there's something new on the iPod and copy it to the comp and vice versa. Automatically, if you want. That's integration.
Forcing me to find which drive letter was assigned, popping up explorer to browse to my media, figuring out what's new on the comp versus the iPod and moving stuff around is not integrated.
Not that we should judge the entirety of the Arab population based on the relatively few murderers, but there is a difference between action and thought. There is no wide-spread murder of Arabs or Moslems in the US. I can't think of even one incident being reported in the last 7 years, though I suppose there was probably one or two. There are certainly enough murders of Blacks or Latinos in certain areas of the country.
We took a stable, secular country and turned into a cesspit of religiously-motivated civil war. Oh yay, we are so good and proper. Imposing democracy is tyranny. Period. Bush is a tyrant. Anyone who believes in "spreading" democracy is a tyrant.
I would like to point out that no one, not even the so-called Palastinians, deny that Jews lived in Israel in the past and had autonomous governments in the centuries leading up to the Roman invasion. That the Romans overthrew Jewish rulers is documented by the Romans.
In actuality, non-Jews never formed a nation based on the territory known as Israel. From the time of the Romans until 1948 it had always been ruled by foreigners as a vassel state of some kind.
What the hell does decomcracy have to do with making death threats or advocating the same? If anything, speaking one's mind is democracy, though that isn't really true. Democracy is nothing more than a system in which everyone gets a say. It says nothing about what is said.
The lack of corporal punishment has reduced this country to the mess it is in, where murderers are victims and the dead are guilty. What that has to do with democracy, however, completely baffles me.
The DMCA was a voice vote. The very idea of a voice vote assures a lack of accountability, which is exactly what politicians want. Accountability is something which is anathema to most Americans.
I guess all that money went to her head. It's a shame she's proven herself to be a greedy, selfish bitch. I hope her daughter is gruesomely killed so she can see that money is ultimately worthless.

What do corporations and capitalism have to do with each other in this context? You can have either without the other.
I am absolutely amazed that the region in dispute hasn't been turned into a glass parking lot.
Iran is trying. The only good Bush has ever done is to try and stall or stop the nuclear programs of North Korea and Iran.

Logic has nothing to do with it. It provides rights to people that aren't friends of Bush. Therefore it has no chance.
Even if the 1 in 123423534634563456t345 odds are actually overcome and the bill passes the Congress, you can bet it will be vetoed.

I see another ass who didn't read either article.
How is it socialism?
Do you know what the "social" in socialism refers to?
Considering that politics probably have the largest impact on economics, why would you expect them to be separated in any meaningful way?
From the article:
If space is a problem, not to worry, itâ(TM)s compact enough to fit in a broom closet.
From the summary:
... it would also be the most expensive desktop ever offered by Microsoft.
I know, the summary was an attempt to bash MS.
This might have been funny if Windows 2008 wasn't the server version of Vista. But then again, probably not.

To reiterate. You are an idiot.
On the other hand, your post clearly shows that you are a raving moron.
You'll install Solaris 10 (to pick a modern version) on 15 year old hardware, but you won't upgrade to OS X 10.4? You are not rational.
Not only that, installing from the device is much more reliable, especially if the app gets upgraded.

I have a better idea. Kill yourself. I think most readers of your comments would think that a great idea, so please see to it.

Please kill yourself. And kill your parents as punishment for inflicting you on the rest of us.
