That's sort of what I do.. I have one account for everyone I know, and then when I sign up somewhere for something (say, on apple's website) they get apple@domain.com, or ms gets ms@domain.com, then I just have my mail program kick anything that doesn't have myname@domain.com in the to field, into a seperate folder for later sorting!:)

I just used the search engine you posted and found Illustrator listed under adobe (Serial #74731075), (Reg #2060488)... Guess they did go after it, and looks like they did get it (shrug)

read your EULA. MS reserves the right to knock on your door and say "Show us your CoAs" at any time. If you don't like it, you can go use that shitty linux stuff.
Then again... if you're not running WinXX you'd never see that EULA, so you could tell them to piss off when they do knock on your door. (and they can't prove that you have run an MS OS and read the EULA, so they have no basis to enforce the fact that they can come to you)
But they're not the IRS, and they have no right to look into what you're running on any of your systems, the most they can really do is say "are you running windows?" which you really don't need to answer, just because you own a pc, doesn't mean you have windows on it. you can just slam the door in their face and there's not a damn thing they can do about it unless they can prove that you're running a pirate os, and the only way they can do that is through an audit that they don't have the power to run (unless you have a site license or something I guess)
Couldn't agree with you more, I hate MS and everything that it stands for, in fact, if it weren't for CS my PC would be packed up in a closet and i'd just use my powerbook for everything, HOWEVER, I run Win2K @Work and I couldn't be happier with it, so far i'm running on 60 days of uptime and it's still as fast and stable as the minute it booted up. I think XP is going to be about as popular as WinME ever was. And the only people who will use it are those unfortunate enough to have it pre-loaded on their system.
Hell, this story is the main reason i'm going to Games4Less on my lunch break to pick up an NES and a copy of Zelda.. among a few other titles I had until now forgotten about. Sure, Nintendo's not going to get any royalties off of this sale, but then again, is this much different than if I went and got an emulator and a ROM?
That'd be awesome, but in the case that you have an older system (or any system without USB) you'd be screwed, well, forced to buy a usb card, anyhow, that'd be a minor issue. Another thing I was thinking that would be good is to set it to set the keyring to do an scan of your hardware or some part of your system (hardware wouldn't be so great because it can be upgraded and you'd be screwed).. anyhow, pick a part on the system that won't ever change, and have it look for a reference to said part of system.. then if anything's ever stolen, it can only be used if the thief has that same structure/hardware/included file or whatever is used to reference and match to. maybe i should have thought this out more because it's not making much sense anymore, anyhow, i'm sure you get the jist.
Yeah, and it's not like powerbooks don't get hot enough as is.. I have a G3/400 Lombard and this thing gets -hot- I could probably work on my laptop for a half hour, move it, and cook breakfast on the part of the desk it was sitting on.
There's a nickel arcade down here in Huntington Beach where it's a buck 95 to get in and all of the older games are free (Frogger, Centipede, Elevator Action, Pac Man, etc etc etc...)
well, -technically- you might want to check out This TLD directory... LA actually stands for Lao People's Democratic Republic.. I can't stand how companys twist other countries TLDs to fit their need to fill their pocketbook and whore out TLDs that belong to another country as their own 'brand new TLD'.. that's just me though..
We use OpenSRS personally, they've been pretty good about letting us get pretty much whatever names we want. Hell, they let someone get:
Domain Name: FUCKNSI.COM
Registrar: TUCOWS.COM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net
I guess bulkregister let someone get fucknetworksolutions.com too. I personally think it'd be better if they managed to register both using NSI, but whatever:)
well you COULD always go spend $20 on a USB mouse, hell you could get a nice Kensington with *4* buttons, which emulates 6. You could have a button to copy, cut, paste, scroll, left click AND right click.
Then there's people like FarmClub who help people get one or two songs downloaded, these bands are damn happy that people are downloading their songs and hearing what they're trying to get played, seeing as how they know only a small fraction of the people who are now buying their cds, would have ever heard of them had they not gotten in the public eye.
Limp Bizkit, Eminem, and more artists actually condone downloading their music. Probably because they realize that if someone downloads a song, that's still recognition, one person downloads a song that they normally wouldn't buy, tells their friends about this new song, free advertising and they sell a few more CDs. Sometimes for bands that normally wouldn't sell anything at all. No real harm in that.
Sure, Artists may feel like they're being ripped off, less people buy singles, but it's just a new way of doing things. Some people would buy a single, like it, buy the whole CD. Well, they may not be getting the three bucks for the single anymore, but they're still getting the 12 for the cd. I think they need to stop crying about napster, and realize that in most cases, it's doing them a favor:)

and can't forget xylophone! (even if i can't spell it)

Reminds me of something my roomie's brother said once. "They used to call us nerds, now they call us boss." hehe.
Funny, that's the reason I moved from Win9x to MacOS, because I like it better :)
