A few years out we're going to be watching athletic events that *highlight* the mods. ("Fred Bloggs is using corpuscles engineered at Georgia Tech that guarantee his ability to sprint for 15 minutes without having to take a breath.")
This whole bias against tech augmentation is getting me down. The sooner we embrace it, and the more we embrace it, the longer we'll live, and with higher quality of life.
Hell, we ought to be giving awards to people who volunteer to test exotic human enhancement technologies right now.
Since the difference between intelligence and stupidity is that there's a limit on intelligence, let's try naming the *best* conferences we've been to.
I've been to OOPSLA a couple of times. Very enjoyable and informative. More recently, I just attended a "No Fluff, Just Stuff" conferences in Atlanta. Lots of good information, especially on Groovy and Grails.
If the Canadian Islamic Council (CIC) gets its way, free speech will cease to exist in Canada.
The CIC is making a bogus claim of religious and racial discrimination in order to persecute a writer, thereby launching a lawsuit on frivolous grounds. And what is the CIC complaining about? Why, writers who say that Muslims make bogus claims of religious and racial discrimination, in order to persecute writers, and launch lawsuits on frivolous grounds.
There's an odd totalitarian circularity there.
Best slap down the Muslim totalitarians now, before they pull a Rhineland, Poland, etc.
Well, thing was, not only did they do Shakespeare, they had actually heard of *other* playwrights.
Yes, I know, completely shocking, but there you are. I mean, I got to hear about some guy called Ibsen, and another guy called The Idiot, but I may be getting my plays mixed up.
Yes.
;^))
No.
Yes.
I appreciate your concision.
(OK. OK.
Kind of exactly my point.
Olympic athletes are already waaaaaaaay outside the main flow of humanity; why not set them free, and then take advantage of what they generate?

I apologize for not amusing you. I was obviously karma-whoring to make up for all my recent "-10, offtopic" posts.
This is what happens when Karl Rove leaves the building. (http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/07/30/0215204)

Good thing for the UK Teddy Kennedy doesn't own coastal property there. They'd be screwed.

They're mooning.
Wait 'til I get this out on the 'hooch!
Hey y'all! Watch this!
I thought this was about "Intelligent Design".
I hope Mark Steyn gets decent treatment: http://www.macleans.ca/article.jsp?content=20071130_111821_7448
There. Mission accomplished.
Not terribly impressive. But maybe evolution will take care of that.
Take a look at Joel Spolsky's "Strategy Letter V": http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/StrategyLetterV.html
Shit, these headlines just write themselves.
You're pretty smart. Thanks.
...exactly.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm let me soak in the juioe of your failings, Steve Jobs.
(CARTMAN, YOU DUNB ASSHOLES!)
I just ran my MetroPCS phone (Nokia 6255) over to T-Mobile. Despite your insightful post, they laughed at me.
What now?
Well, thing was, not only did they do Shakespeare, they had actually heard of *other* playwrights.

After all, I was in Alabama.

You can't write this shit.
You're a lot smarter than me.
On an up-note, I'd encourage you to relocate to Alabama. You'd find a lot of peers there.
I'm actually lying in bed, sucking down nyquil, and watching LOTR.
So, don't taze me, bro!
(Oh, global warming, imagination, figment of, one each...)
When I lead with a Lebowski quote, are you really expecting deep thought?
That said, this is a momentous, well, moment. (BTW, that's an indirect Austin Powers reference.)
(Thanks for killing the joke.)
