  1. What is legal: on Clock Ticking For Australian PlayStation Chippers · · Score: 2

I think it's legal to mod Playstations into weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.....

  2. Napseter on Napster to Filter by Filenames · · Score: 1

So is Napster spelled wrong ("Napseter") intentionally in this article to keep it from being deleted from /.?

  3. I doesn't matter on Computer Science vs. Computer Engineering? · · Score: 1

What matters is if you get the job you want after college. Either major is ok if it gets you the job you want. After that, it matters very little! I hope I helped!

  4. DVD? on GStreamer: Full-featured Multimedia for Linux · · Score: 2

I noticed that one of the screenshots was of a Matrix .vob file. Hmmmm.... if DVD playing wasn't compiled in, I'm sure someone could make a DeCSS plugin a la xine. I guess it would be hard for the MPAA to go after someone who anonymously writes a plugin for any of these players.

  5. Arcade Industry on Sony In Deal For Networked Arcade Games · · Score: 1

I thought the arcade industry was dieing.... remember how Midway isn't making pinball games anymore?? I think pinball and air hockey are the only reason to go to arcades anymore (at least they don't cost $1.50 per play). To me, networked arcade games don't make sense. I don't understand why anyone would go to the arcade to play with somebody that isn't even there. If I'm leaving my house, I'm going to be playing with somebody standing right next to me! It's much more fun to "trash talk", etc. when you are playing with somebody. Now if I am alone at home, then I might play "long distance."

  6. Re:Nautilus vs Konqueror on GNOME 1.4 Beta 1 Is Out · · Score: 1

I'm running Nautilus on Debian Woody, and it is o.k. imho. It is pretty to look at, but as a web browser I haven't used it much. For some reason Mozilla won't imbed in it (I have Bonobo too.. hmm?), but I just use it for a file manager. One thing about it that really hacks me off is that it is trying to be a whole desktop in itself. It puts icons on my root window (noooo!!!!!), and it changed my background image (double nooooo!!!!). The other things I don't like about it will probably be taken care of by the time 1.0 is out, so I will refrain from trolling. I just wish efm didn't die.... (hmmm... e 0.17?)

  7. Re:pick n mix on GNOME 1.4 Beta 1 Is Out · · Score: 1

I like to use Gpanel without gmc. I just killed the gmc process and then saved the session settings, and gmc hasn't bothered me yet.
