I can't watch Kenshin dubbed. The dubbing makes him look like such a baka! I feel embarrassed for him. The theme of the ainme itself is a good indicator for whether to watch sub or dub. No american actor can really grasp the themes in Rurouni Kenshin, it's a very Japanese series. There is so much bound up in it about historical Japanese culture, and the characters behave in ways that sometimes seem really strange to the Western mind. the dubbing actors really blew it. the voices are all wrong, the words were actually changed in some places, robbing the series of some of its nobility. I don't think Akira is that central. I'd recommend watching more Studio Ghibli and Gainax work. (What was La Blue Girl anyway? Was there a plot in there anyway? The amount of hentai and ecchi has skyrocketed. blech. boring uninspiring crap. urutsokidoji? run that one by me again, was there a plot in that either?) more contemporary requirements would be Rurouni Kenshin, Shin Seki Evangelion, Trigun, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Nausicaa, Valley of the Wind and of course, MD Geist (just because it's violent and has a decent plot). waiting to be flayed alive. . . confound
