  1. Re:Synonomous? on Professional Audio on Linux? · · Score: 0

"Digital audio production and Macs are virtually synonomous"

AFAIK there's PCs running in a lot of proffessional studios.

ProTools may be the dominant platform at the moment but it's definately not the only one in use when it comes to proffessional audio production.

During my own recording sessions I've used both without any problems (except for lack of RAM in the Mac of course)...

have you ever tried using CSS in Netscape? if you had, i'm shure you wouldn't have posted that...

or are you maybe thinking of some lame feature that nobody uses but Netscape that's not even in the W3C standard?

  3. Re:Some Proposed Reasons on MP3s In Foreign Countries · · Score: 1

"1) Most other countries have a smaller percentage of the population owning computers. Thus it's a smaller issue."

Not true for northern Europe, especially not for Scandinavia.

"2) Most other countries don't seem to have flat rate plans for internet access as is common (even expected) in the US. Furthermore, local calls in the US are free (modulo your monthly bill). Downloading MP3s is thus more expensive, and hence less commonplace (and less of an issue)."

Especially in Sweden, broadband (although via cable-modem) is quite commonplace nowadays.

"3) Piracy is more commonplace in many other countries, since the US economy is comparatively strong. Thus it's less of an issue."

Strength of economy has nothing to do with it.
    Exchange rates and taxes does.

Please read something lame and go to sleep.

I agree that there is a "someone must be doing this already" factor that really holds back some of those ideas. Half of the time, when you're programming (if you haven't been doing it for a really long time (>5 yrs)) you find yourself reading a post somewhere that has a reference to something much better than you could ever come up with. That's why one should sit down and really read through libraries and stuff i guess... I won't make sense today - to much coffee.

By the way - I would really like to see Delphi for Linux installed on my computer tomorrow. Can someone please help me out?

  9. Instructions? on Reconfigurable Computers - Again? · · Score: 2

I wonder if there will be instructions on those processors that enable you to crank the n:th transistor over the top - enabling Assembler freaks all over the world to have nifty demos running at the same time as you unpack whatever cracked software you're unpacking?

    See if I care.

I want my computer to be stable - this sounds like yet another source of hardware problems to me.
